    摘要: In an automobile instrument panel structure, an upper meter provided in an upper front part of an instrument panel main body is disposed so as to correspond to an upper side of an upper half of a steering wheel, and a lower meter provided in a lower rear part of the instrument panel main body is disposed so as to correspond to a lower side of the upper half of the steering wheel. It is thus possible to reliably view the upper meter and the lower meter without being obstructed by the steering wheel. Further, since an upper edge of a panel in which the upper meter is disposed has a shape substantially conforming to the upper half of the steering wheel, there is no disagreeable sensation even when the upper meter, which has conventionally been disposed in a laterally central part of the instrument panel main body, is disposed in front of the driver. Furthermore, since the panel can be attached to and detached from the instrument panel main body, maintenance can easily be carried out for the upper meter and the lower meter by removing the panel.

    摘要: A method for producing a cured, low-density polyurethane foam, the method comprises frothing a reactive polyurethane-forming composition comprising an isocyanate-containing component, an active hydrogen-containing component reactive with the isocyanate-containing component, a blowing agent, a surfactant, and catalyst system, wherein the catalyst system provides for a delayed curing of the foam; casting the frothed reactive polyurethane-forming composition onto a first carrier; placing a second carrier on a side of the cast foam opposite the first carrier; blowing the froth with the second carrier in place; and curing the blown froth so as to provide a polyurethane foam layer having a density of about 50 to about 400 kg/m3 and a thickness of about 0.3 to about 13 mm. The foams are useful as sealing members.

    摘要: An apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine has an amount-of-intake-air control unit for generating a command value for the opening of a flow control valve in an intake passage of the engine, which emits exhaust gases through a catalytic converter, so as to increase an amount of intake air introduced into a combustion chamber by a predetermined quantity greater when the engine operates in an idling mode after it has started to operate than when the engine operates in a normal idling mode, and controlling the opening of the flow control valve based on the generated command value, and an ignition timing control unit for controlling the ignition timing according to a feedback control process to correct the ignition timing so as to be retarded in order to converge the rotational speed of the engine to a predetermined target rotational speed while the amount of intake air is being increased. The amount-of-intake-air control unit successively acquires amount-of-heat data representing the amount of heat energy actually given to the catalytic converter by exhaust gases flowing into said catalytic converter while the amount of intake air is being increased, and corrects the command value for the opening of said flow control valve according to a feedback control process in order to converge the acquired amount-of-heat data to a predetermined target value representing an amount of heat energy to be given to said catalytic converter.
