Abstract: A vacuum tool designed to immobilize a part, including at least one sealing gasket and at least one groove in a bearing surface that is configured to at least partially receive the sealing gasket. The groove has a central slot and right- and left-hand gaps arranged on either side of the central slot. The sealing gasket has a lower portion cooperating with the central slot of the groove and an upper portion in contact with the part when in operation, and right- and left-hand flanges that are seated respectively in the right- and left-hand gaps. These flanges provide a better hold for the sealing gasket in the groove, notably in the curved sections thereof.

Abstract: Provided herein are gaskets formed from two parts, the first part made from an elastomer, and the second part made from a material having properties with less gas permeation and lower flexibility than the elastomer, in which the second part is fixed to the first part in a direction that is vertical or substantially vertical to the direction of gas permeation between the two components. The gaskets can reduce or prevent permeation by small-molecule gasses; thus, the gaskets are useful, for example, for seals in apparatus for semiconductor wafer process technologies.

Abstract: A non-metallic flange isolation gasket kit sealing flanged pipeline connections and flanged vessel connections while providing electrical isolation protection between flanges suited for high-pressure and high-temperature cathodic protection applications is presented. The invention protects flange faces from media induced corrosion and mitigates flange rotation induced fatigue and failures. The invention comprises of a retainer, a seal, and a seal pre-load structural ring. The seal pre-load structural ring is inserted into the seal, and seal outer diameter surface is joined to the retainer inner diameter surface. A second embodiment comprises of a composite gasket blank, comprising of a retainer and a seal, and a seal pre-load structural ring. The seal outer diameter surface and the retainer inner diameter surface are joined by thermal fusion bonding. The invention may further comprise one or more gasket seating stress stabilizers and/or a centering ring. Tapered retainer upper and lower surfaces decrease flange rotation.

Abstract: A tadpole-type gasket and a method of fabrication. The gasket includes a core and a jacket. One embodiment of the jacket includes a woven fabric strip in which the warp threads are omitted from the strip in two separated portions to form first and second longitudinally extending drop warp portions with weft yarns joining completely woven portions on either side. The strip is wrapped about the core so that the drop warp portions overlie each other, and completely woven portions of the strip overly each other. Portions of the completely woven portions are secured together. The weft yarns in the overlying drop warp portions are readily separated to push a fastener therethrough. In another embodiment, the jacket includes slitted portions which overlie each other, which are readily separated by a fastener.
