    摘要: A liquid crystal panel (10) includes an active matrix substrate on which a transistor (12), a pixel electrode (17), signal lines (15, 16) and backup wirings (8a, 8b) for recovering a defect in the signal line are formed; a color filter substrate on which a common electrode (counter electrode) is formed; and a liquid crystal material provided between the active matrix substrate and the color filter substrate. The backup wirings (8a, 8b) are (electrically) connected to the common electrode on the color filter substrate, through (i) a protection circuit (9) for discharging an undesired electric charge that occurs in the backup wirings (8a, 8b) and (ii) a sealing adhesive (6). With this configuration, it becomes possible to reduce problems (for instance, unexpected short-circuiting of the backup wiring and the signal line) caused by the undesired electric charge that occurs in the backup wirings.

    摘要: An active matrix substrate is constituted of a TFT (4) in which a plurality of drain electrodes (16a and 16b) are provided for a single source electrode (6), and at least one of the drain electrodes is electrically connected to the pixel electrode (1) via the drain outgoing wire. The drain outgoing wire includes a first conductive pattern section having (i) a drain outgoing wire common section (7d) and drain outgoing branch sections (7a and 7b) each of which extends from said drain outgoing common section into each of said drain electrodes, and (ii) a correction connection electrode 9 which is partially overlapped with said branch sections of said first conductive pattern section via an insulating layer. The correction connection electrode 9 is electrically connectable to a plurality of said branch sections by being conducted to said branch sections through said insulating layer. This structure allows pixel defect correction within the pixel.

    摘要: In a display method of a PDP apparatus or the like, there is provided a technique for reducing or eliminating dynamic false contours in a display video image by determining and detecting an occurrence region of dynamic false contours in display data with good accuracy for coping. In a false-contour detection unit in a PDP apparatus, a carry detection unit detects, as a dynamic-false-contour occurrence region, a pixel region corresponding to carry in an SF on-cell pattern of adjacent pixels based on a video image signal in view of a predetermined condition. In a width control unit, a detection region is expanded according to a motion amount. A detection region is expanded according to a motion amount in a width control unit. A diffusion processing (actual gray-scale number restriction processing) based on dither or error diffusion is performed to the detection region. A detection condition of the carry is that an on-cell state of an SF with higher weighting is different between the adjacent gray scales sandwiching the carried gray scale therebetween.

    摘要: An active matrix substrate of the present invention includes a TFT and a substrate. The TFT formed on a substrate includes, when viewed in a normal direction of the substrate: a first region in which a gate electrode overlaps a source electrode via a semiconductor layer; a second region in which the gate electrode overlaps a drain electrode via the semiconductor layer; and a third region in which the semiconductor layer overlaps neither the gate electrode, source electrode, nor the drain electrode. The third region includes a portion adjoining the source electrode lying outside the first region and/or a portion adjoining the drain electrode lying outside the second region. The gate electrode includes: a main body, which includes a portion constituting the first region and the second region; and a protrusion from the main body. At least a part of the protrusion of the gate electrode is in between the drain electrode and the portion of the third region adjoining the source electrode, or between the source electrode and the portion of the third region adjoining the drain electrode.
