The packaging material for a photographic photosensitive material of the invention is formed of a thermoplastic resin composition containing 50 wt. % or more of a thermoplastic resin manufactured using a catalyst capable of producing 10,000 g or more of the thermoplastic resin per 1 g of solid catalyst component. The catalyst includes a single site catalyst, such as zirconium based metallocene, hafnium based metallocene, titanium based metallocene and vanadium based metallocene and aluminoxane. By using the thermoplastic resin composition, adverse effects on photographic properties can be removed, and rusting of manufacturing apparatus can be decreased.

A die-cut sheet having score lines and cutouts which in the form of a sheet of multilayered paperboard including at least two paper layers on the outer and inner sides that are made of different materials, that use a starch-based adhesive, preferably a cornstarch-based adhesive and that each have a basis weight of at least 150 g/m2 is shaped into a box. The die-cut sheet is preferably in the form of a sheet of double-faced or double-wall corrugated board including 30 to 55 flutes/30 cm at a height of 2.3 to 5 mm and a takeup ratio of 1.30 to 1.65, with the liner and the medium having basis weights of 150 to 350 g/m2 and 120 to 200 g/m2, respectively. The box can be used as a paper container for photo-sensitive materials. Despite its use of waste paper, the box controls the possible adverse effects on the photographic properties of the contents, thereby allowing for effective control of the occurrence of damage and the generation of burrs of paper fragments and paper dust during the manufacturing, storage and shipment stages. In addition, using the starch-based adhesive of high bond strength, the box can be stored satisfactorily for a prolonged period.

At least one layer of the layered film has light shielding performance, and at least one layer other than the biaxially stretched plastic film layer has a ratio of the tear strength in the direction normal to the flow direction to the tear strength in the flow direction of not less than 3. The package has physical strength such as impact resistance, complete hermetic sealing performance, complete light shielding performance, and amenability of discarding and recycling without affecting the quality of the photosensitive material.

In the color masterbatch resin composition and the packaging material for a photographic photosensitive material of the invention, hight-shielding material is dispersed uniformly by employing a special resin composition, and thereby, adverse affects upon photographic photosensitive materials are prevented, and favorable appearance can be ensured. Moreover, fog with time, abnormal sensitivity, abrasion, pressure marks, etc. can be prevented.

The coextruded multilayer extrusion laminating layer has an adhesive layer comprising less than 5 wt. % of carbon black and 5 to 90 wt. % of acid-modified adhesive polyolefin resin that is adhered to the paper support and a surface layer comprising less than 3 wt. % of carbon black and more than 10 wt. % of ethylene copolymer resin. The paper material does not induce fogging, sensitivity deviation or the like upon photosensitive materials and has a great adhesive force between the paper support and the resin layer. A method for producing the paper material. is also disclosed.

A resin composition for masterbatch, which comprises 5 to 90 wt. % of modified polyolefin resin and 5 to 70 wt. % of carbon black having a mean particle size of 15 to 120 m.mu. and an oil absorption value of more than 50 ml/100 g of which volatile components are less than 3.5 wt. %. The fluidity of the resin composition for masterbatch of the invention is excellent even in a high concentration of carbon black, and is uniformly dispersed in a base resin in a short time.

A packaging material for photographic photosensitive materials which comprises a biaxially stretched polyamide resin film layer and a very low density ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer resin film layer laminated through an adhesive layer and contains a light shielding material at least in one layer. By laminating the very low density ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer resin film to the biaxially stretched polyamide resin film through the adhesive layer, tear strength, impact strength and the like of the laminated film are improved by the notch effect. Particularly, resistance to the occurrence of pinholes is much superior to the other laminated films containing similar ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer resin film layer.
