Abstract: Techniques are described for preempting resource allocations to one or more UEs in the event that delay sensitive data is received. A resource allocation of a number of symbols may be granted to a first user equipment (UE) for first associated data to be transmitted. Subsequently, data may be received for a second UE that is more delay sensitive than the first data. The resource allocation to the first UE may be preempted, and resources allocated to the second UE for the second data within a variable length transmission time interval (TTI) of the resource allocation to the first UE. UEs may monitor for preemption during transmissions to other UEs in order to receive new resource grants associated with the preempted resource grant. Whether a UE monitors transmissions for preemption may be determined based on a quality or service (QoS) of the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A receiving device may detect a signal associated with low latency transmissions and decode a non-low latency communication accordingly. The receiving device may receive an indicator from a transmitting device that indicates where and when low latency communications occur. The indication may specify frequency resources or symbols used by the low latency communication. The indicator may be transmitted during the same subframe as the low latency communication, at the end of a subframe, or during a subsequent subframe. The receiving device may use the indicator to mitigate low latency interference, generate channel estimates, and reliably decode the non-low latency communication. In some cases, the interfering low latency communication may occur within the serving cell of the receiving device; or the interfering low latency communication may occur in a neighboring cell.

The control information may be channel state information (CSI) or acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) feedback information.

Abstract: Systems and methods providing radio resource management (RRM) to facilitate the co-existence of the neighboring cells, such as to manage radio resources for deployments utilizing a same frequency or overlapping frequencies, using discovery signal transmission are disclosed. Discovery signal transmission may be used to enable network elements of a wireless communication system to discover other network elements of the wireless communication system, whether such other network elements are operating with respect to a cell of a same or different operator. Transmission of discovery signals may be utilized to detect situations of dominant interference, whereby the network elements of neighboring cells may provide protected resources for each other. The protected resources may comprise particular frequencies, time slots, channels, etc.

Abstract: Detection and reporting techniques for collisions between transmitters of two different radio access technologies (RATs) transmitting in a shared radio frequency spectrum band is described. The collision may occur following a listen-before-talk procedure but prior to transmission of data, and may not affect the reception of the transmitted data. Collisions may be detected using for example, energy sensing, preamble or ready-to-send (RTS) signal detection, or unsuccessful decoding of all or part of a channel reservation signal. A transmitting device may determine a collision has occurred by detecting an energy level during a preamble transmission is greater than a threshold level or by detecting that an energy level during a transmission gap of a time-domain energy pattern is above a threshold level. A receiving device, such as a user equipment (UE), that detects the collision may report the collision to the transmitter.

The service advertising signal indicates an availability of a service. The UE transmits, to the second wireless communication device, a request for the service. The first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device are associated with different operating entities of the spectrum.

The base station may perform a beam sweeping first transmission of the SS burst over the shared radio frequency spectrum based at least in part on the access procedure. In the first transmission or a second transmission, the base station may transmit at least one of a first indication of a time of access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band with respect to the measurement window, a second indication of a transmission beam associated with the SS block, and a third indication of a quantity of remaining SS blocks from the plurality of SS blocks to follow the SS block in the measurement window.
