Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may configure a user equipment (UE) to perform demodulation reference signal (DMRS) enhancement whereby the UE may transmit physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) repetitions with different DMRS densities (e.g., a first DMRS density configuration having a first or default DMRS pattern within a transmission time interval (TTI) that is higher than a second DMRS density configuration having fewer DMRSs than the normal DMRS pattern or no DMRSs within the TTI). The UE may identify TTIs (e.g., slots) that satisfy one or more phase continuity rules, and may perform DMRS enhancement in the identified TTIs, and may restart a mapping sequence indicated in the DMRS mapping pattern at each bundle interval boundary or when consecutive uplink symbol periods within a bundling interval do not satisfy a phase continuity condition.

Abstract: During positioning of a user equipment (UE), (DL) positioning reference signals (PRS) transmitted by one or more transmission reception point (TRP) in a wireless communication system may be preempted or punctured by higher priority transmissions, such as ultra-reliable low-latency traffic (URLLC). A PRS preemption indication (PI) may be provided to a UE identifying one or more TRPs affected by preemption. The PRS PI may further identify the time domain and frequency domain of the preempted DL PRS transmissions. The PRS PI may identify the time domain, e.g., based on a number of PRS symbols between two monitoring occasions, wherein only PRS symbols that contain positioning reference signals associated with the group of TRPs are counted. The PRS PI may identify the frequency domain by identifying at least one of four or more frequency sub-bands of the preempted DL PRS transmissions.

Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently transmitting uplink signals to a base station using shared antennas associated with different power classes. A first device may be in communications with a base station using local antennas and may identify a second device having auxiliary antennas available for transmitting uplink signals to the base station. The local and auxiliary antennas may be associated with different power classes, and the first device may transmit a message to a base station indicating that the first device is capable of transmitting using antennas associated with different power classes. The first device may then receive configurations from a base station of different transmit powers to transmit on the antennas associated with the different power classes, and the first device may transmit uplink signals to the base station in accordance with the different transmit power configurations.

Abstract: Wireless communications devices and methods are adapted to facilitate DMRS sequence grouping. In one example, information is obtained for a transmission scheduled with pi/2 BPSK modulation, the transmission including two or more symbols scheduled for a DMRS (DMRS symbols). Respective DMRS sequences may be identified for each of the DMRS symbols, where each DMRS sequence subsequent to another DMRS sequence is dependent on its immediately preceding DMRS sequence, and the transmission may be sent with the identified DMRS sequences in the two or more DMRS symbols. In one example, a first transmission may be sent to schedule a second transmission from another device with pi/2 BPSK modulation, where the second transmission includes two or more DMRS symbols. The scheduled second transmission may be received with at least one DMRS symbol including a DMRS sequence based on its immediately preceding DMRS sequence. A device (e.g., a base station or a user equipment (UE)) may identify a sequence length corresponding to a number of resource blocks, and select a modulation scheme based on the sequence length. The device may select, from a set of sequences associated with the modulation scheme, a sequence having the sequence length. In some examples, the set of sequences may include at least one of a set of time domain phase shift keying computer-generated sequences or a set of frequency domain phase shift keying computer-generated sequences. The device may generate a reference signal for a data transmission based on the sequence and transmit the reference signal within the number of resource blocks.

Abstract: Wireless communication techniques leveraging DMRS sharing patterns are disclosed. A method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) device, control information. The control information indicates mapping of uplink transmission parameters to one or more demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sharing patterns. The method further includes sending an uplink transmission to a base station in accordance with a DMRS sharing pattern. The DMRS sharing pattern is selected from among the one or more DMRS sharing patterns based on one or more parameters of the uplink transmission.
