A method of a terminal includes receiving packet duplication data radio bearer (DRB) configuration information from a base station, receiving a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including information indicating whether packet duplication has been activated from the base station, and determining whether to activate a packet duplication bearer based on the packet duplication DRB configuration information and the MAC CE.

Abstract: A method, terminal and base station are provided. The method includes receiving, from a base station, channel state information (CSI) configuration information associated with a transmission of an uplink signal, and discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration information. A DRX operation is performed based on the DRX configuration information. A control message for triggering the transmission of the uplink signal, during an active time according to the DRX operation, is received from the base station. It is determined whether a time resource for transmitting the uplink signal is in the active time based on the CSI configuration information. In response to the time resource not being in the active time, the uplink signal is transmitted according to a transmission type of the uplink signal based on the CSI configuration information.

Abstract: A data transmission and reception method and apparatus in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. The transmission method includes selecting at least one antenna for use in transmission among a plurality of antennas based on transmission data and transmitting the transmission data through the selected antenna. The data transmission and reception method and apparatus are advantageous in increasing the throughput of the MIMO communication system. Also, the data transmission and reception method and apparatus are capable of making it possible to design a superior transceiver in complexity and performance. Also, the data transmission and reception method and apparatus are capable of acquiring extra Degree of Freedom (DOF) and thus increasing the number of symbols that can be transmitted at a time. Furthermore, the data transmission and reception method and apparatus are applicable to conventional MIMO communication systems to obtain extra performance gain without being restricted to certain conditions.
