For instance, an apparatus includes a module to provide a preamble sequence having multiple values, where each of the values corresponds to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) subcarrier. These multiple values may include multiple blocks of values based on a differentially encoded and scrambled row of a Hadamard matrix. The apparatus may further include a modulation module to produce an OFDM modulated signal from the preamble sequence. Further, techniques for the detection of such preambles are disclosed.

    摘要: When scanning for available channels, a wireless mobile device may reduce the number of channels it scans, and therefore reduce the amount of time spent in scanning, by using the information from some of the scanned channels to eliminate the need to scan some of the other channels. In some embodiments in which multiple smaller channels may be combined into larger channels, information gained from one of the smaller channels may show that another smaller channel is associated with it, and thereby eliminate the need to scan that other channel.

    摘要: Embodiments of a high-efficiency Wi-Fi (HEW) station, access point (AP), and method for random access contention in a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the HEW station may receive a beacon frame that indicates a number of trigger frames (TFs) included in a beacon interval. The beacon frame may be received from an HEW access point (AP) in channel resources that include multiple sub-channels. The HEW station may receive a random access TF that indicates a random access portion of the sub-channels that are allocated for random access contention during an uplink transmission period. The HEW station may select a candidate sub-channel from the channel resources. When the candidate sub-channel is included in the random access portion, the HEW station may transmit an association request (AR) frame on the candidate sub-channel during the uplink transmission period.
