    摘要: A method and system in which upon occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, a network sends an IMS reregistration request message to a UE. An S-CSCF or an AS monitors a P-CSCF to detect occurrence of a failure in the P-CSCF. Upon detecting the occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, the S-CSCF or the AS sends a request message for IMS reregistration to the UEs being served by the failed P-CSCF. In this manner, the UE can continuously receive the service even though a failure occurs in the P-CSCF.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus control a UE that supports a dual mode for controlling power consumption. A wireless local area network (WLAN) modem of a user equipment (UE) automatically turns on when the UE detects that the UE has entered into an area (e.g. home) that employs a home network including a femto Node B and a WLAN access point (AP). The method and apparatus may also determine whether a femto identifier received from a Node B of a home network is an identifier registered in a WLAN turn-on list stored in the UE. If the femto identifier is registered in the WLAN turn-on list, the WLAN modem of the UE is turned on.

    摘要: A method of signaling bearer connection on Iu interface for MBMS service, includes the following steps: (a) RNC receives a MBMS Notification message for a certain MBMS service from SGSN; (b) RNC constructs a MBMS Service Request message according to the contents of the notification; (c) RNC sends a SCCP Connection Request message to SGSN, requests to establish a SCCP signaling connection, and then waits for a reply; (d) RNC receives a SCCP Connection Confirmation message from SGSN. This invention solves the problem of signaling connection on Iu interface after MBMS service is introduced into the existing mobile communication system. The connection mode provided in this invention can reasonably utilize network resources, effectively reduce signaling congestion on Iu interface and reduce modifications to the existing Iu interface message.

    摘要: A method for minimizing overhead occurring caused by control information for encryption performed to protect MBMS data for an MBMS service in a mobile communication system. This method is implemented by distinguishing a case in which control information used for encryption is updated from another case in which the control information used for encryption is not updated, and transmitting different control information according to the distinguishment result. That is, when the control information used for encryption is not updated, only minimized control information is transmitted, and when the control information for encryption is updated, the entire updated control information is transmitted. Accordingly, the amount of control information transmitted along with MBMS data is minimized, contributing to an increase in the amount of MBMS data transmitted per unit time.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for enabling partial combining on a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) service are provided where a radio network controller (RNC) specifically informs a user equipment (UE) whether an MBMS service signal of the current cell is combinable with the same MBMS service signals received from different cells for each individual service or timing, through an MCCH or an MSCH, which is a type of a logical channel for an MBMS service, in a Uu interface. The UE combines the MBMS service signals transmitted from the different cells, thereby obtaining a gain in terms of utilization of transmission power and radio resources.
