The method includes sending a first binding update message from the user equipment over the first access network to create a first binding cache entry at the home agent. The user equipment uses a home address assigned to the user equipment as a source IP address of the first binding update message. The method further includes sending a second binding update message from the user equipment over the second access network to create a second binding cache entry at the home agent. The user equipment receives packets from the home agent through the first access network and the second access network based on the first binding cache entry and the second binding cache entry.

    摘要: A media access gateway includes a wireless network interface, a tunneling module, a proxy mobility agent module, and an address assignment module. The wireless network interface establishes a link with a wireless terminal. The tunneling module establishes tunnels with first and second local mobility anchors, associated with first and second packet data networks, respectively. The proxy mobility agent module stores a mapping of assigned addresses to local mobility anchor identifiers. The proxy mobility agent selects a first or second local mobility anchor in response to the mapping and a source address of the wireless terminal, and the tunneling module tunnels the packet to the selected local mobility anchor. The address assignment module transmits an address assignment message, which includes the first assigned address and a prefix usage indicator, to the wireless terminal. The first assigned address includes a network-based or client-based mobility address according to the prefix usage indicator.

    摘要: An emergency telephone call is supported and routed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in an IP based packet switched wireless communications network. An activate PDP context request is sent from a user equipment to the network. A parameter in said activate PDP context request indicates that the PDP context will be used to transfer an emergency call. An activate PDP context accept message is returned from said support node to said user equipment. Said activate PDP context accept message acknowledges said activate PDP context request message and provides the address of a call state control function. A call setup request transferred to the call state control function includes the Service Area Identity (SAI). The call state control function selects a PSAP based, at least in part, on the SAI included in the call setup request and forwards the emergency call to the selected PSAP.
