A light absorbing layer 3 and a buffer layer 4 are divided by removing the light absorbing layer and the buffer layer by a laser, a metal needle or the like, successively, laser anneal working is carried out by thermally melting an end portion by irradiating a laser to include the divided end portion to constitute the end portion which has been substantially vertical in an inclined shape. Thereby, a thickness of TCO laminated on the inclined end portion is substantially equal to a thickness of TCO formed at an upper face of the light absorbing layer.

A single unit cell (herein, referred to as “a unit cell”) is formed out of a lower electrode layer (Mo electrode layer) 2 formed on a substrate 1, a light-absorbing layer (CIGS LIGHT-ABSORBING LAYER) 3 including copper, indium, gallium, and selenium, a high-resistance buffer layer thin film 4 formed of InS, ZnS, CdS, and the like on the light-absorbing layer thin film, and an upper electrode thin film (TCO) 5 formed of ZnOAl and the like. In order to connect the unit cell, a part of a contact electrode 6 connecting the upper electrode and the lower electrode is formed to overlap with a dividing line of the lower electrode 2 formed by a first scribing.

A method of fabricating a thin-film compound solar cell having an n-type buffer layer formed therein for providing a heterojunction with a p-type compound semiconductor light absorbing layer formed on a back electrode by applying a chemical bath deposition (CBD) process using an aqueous solution for dipping the light absorbing layer to deposit particles on the surface thereof. In this process, the temperature of the solution is controlled from low to high to increase sizes of the particles to be deposited on the light absorbing layer so as to form the buffer layer which possesses a high optical transmittance, tight adherence to the light absorbing layer and conformity with the transparent electrode formed thereon even if it would be made of InS material generally possessing a small bandgap and hard to pass light of short wavelengths.

An optical transmission system accomplishes optical transmission to a long distance by combining a multiplexing line terminal with optical amplifiers, linear repeaters, and regenerators with optical amplifiers combined together. The system also accomplishes the optical transmission to a short distance by directly connecting the linear terminals therebetween, with an electric-to-optic converter replaced by an electric-to-optic converter having a semiconductor amplifier, with an optic-toelectric converter by an optic-to-electric converter having an avalanche photodiode as light receiver, an with no use of any optical booster amplifier and optical preamplifier in the multiplexing line terminal. With these, the optical transmission system can be easily constructed depending on the transmission distance required.

Load such as a large screen TV set is supported with improved stability without losing mobility, by providing resilient members such as compression springs between the supporting fiat base whereon the TV set is mounted and plural load supporting bodies which are rollers held vertically movable to some extent. When a strong outside force is applied, for instance, the TV set is strongly pushed from its back, the front rollers are retracted by compression of the spring, thereby the front bottom edge of the console touches the floor and resisting force or reaction force against the fall down of the TV set much increases.
