摘要： A portable generator system provides power to a load source including an engine and a generator. The engine drives the generator to provide a generator alternating current (AC) electrical power output. An energy storage system (ESS) provides an ESS direct current (DC) electrical power output. A first inverter is connected to the generator for receiving the generator AC electrical power output and for providing a DC power output. A second inverter is connected to the first inverter and the ESS for receiving the DC power output from the first inverter and the ESS DC electrical power output for providing an AC power output. A first power mode includes the generator maintaining a first generator power output level corresponding to a specified power requirement of a load source, and the ESS providing an additional first ESS power output level for satisfying the specified power requirement of the load source.

The power transmission level, slot timing, and equalization of the subscriber stations are set by a ranging process. Data is transmitted by the subscriber stations in fragmented form. Various measures are taken to make transmission from the subscriber stations robust. The uplink data transmission is controlled to permit multiple access from the subscriber stations.

摘要： As additional channels are added to a communication system for applications, such as standard density (SD) and eventually high density (HD) Video on Demand (VOD), additional capacity can be realized by reducing the time required to transmit content. A reduction of transmission time (or an increase of the transmission rate) can be achieved by bonding channels of the communication system. The bonded channels typically provide a statistical multiplexing gain because the additional bandwidth is treated as a large single channel for the download. Bonding channels of the communication system can provide high speed downloading of content, such as video content, far in excess of the playback rate. Using bonded channels can relax the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of a data stream, such as a video stream, over an internet protocol (IP) network.
