Abstract: A corneal endothelial cell imaging apparatus includes an irradiation system, a light receiving system, and a controller. The irradiation system includes a spatial light modulator modulating light from a light source, and is configured to irradiate slit-shaped illumination light toward a cornea by modulating the light using the spatial light modulator. The light receiving system is arranged obliquely to the irradiation system and includes an image sensor receiving reflected light from the cornea. The controller is configured to control the spatial light modulator so as to irradiate the illumination light onto an illumination region on the cornea, and is configured to control the image sensor to set an opening range on a light receiving surface corresponding to the illumination region on the cornea and to capture a light receiving result of reflection component from a corneal endothelium obtained by a light receiving element in the set opening range.

Abstract: Provided is a communication management system for a surveying instrument. The system includes: a surveying instrument including a survey unit configured to survey a target, a control unit configured to control the survey unit, and a communication unit connected to a communication network; a management server capable of communicating with the surveying instrument; and a remote terminal capable of communicating with the management server, wherein the remote terminal makes maintenance settings for the surveying instrument and cancels the maintenance settings, and stores the maintenance settings and cancellation of the settings in the management server, the management server gives a notification to at least one of a user and an administrator that the surveying instrument is in a state requiring predetermined maintenance work according to the maintenance settings, and when the maintenance settings are canceled, stops the notification.

Abstract: A rotary encoder includes: a rotary disk with an angle code; a light source; a detector reading the angle code; and a processing unit acquiring a reading value. The light source includes at least two light-emitting elements spaced from each other. Every time the rotary disk is rotated by a predetermined angle, where an arbitrary angle from a rotation angle θ within a reading range on the detector is provided as φ, the processing unit acquires reading values fI(θ+φ) and fI(θ) with a first light-emitting element and a reading value fII(θ+φ) with a second light-emitting element, to calculate a reading value error due to deflection at an angle θ+φ based on the difference between the reading values fII(θ+φ) and fI(θ+φ), to obtain a difference gI(θ,φ) between the reading values fI(θ+φ) and fI(θ) such that the error is reflected, and to self-calibrate based on a change in the difference gI(θ,φ).

Abstract: An ophthalmic apparatus according to an embodiment includes a fixation system, a data acquisition device, analyzing circuitry, and controlling circuitry. The fixation system projects fixation light onto a subject's eye. The data acquisition device acquires data by applying optical coherence tomography scanning to the subject's eye onto which the fixation light is being projected. The analyzing circuitry analyzes the data to specify the position of a predetermined site of the subject's eye. The controlling circuitry controls at least one of the fixation system and the data acquisition device based on the positional relationship between the position of the predetermined site specified by the analyzing circuitry and a scan area by the data acquisition device.
