    摘要： A surgical instrument securing device is provided for holding medical instruments. The surgical instrument securing device may be formed from a silicone, rubber, or other polymer based base and may be elastomeric. Slots in the base may define one or more substantially arcuate, circular, elliptical, or other geometrically shaped spaces within the base which open towards at least one side of the base, wherein one or more surgical instruments may be secured by inserting a portion of the instrument into one of the slots. A method for securing surgical instruments is also provided wherein surgical instruments are secured by inserting a portion of the instruments into the slots within the silicone or other polymer based base.

    摘要： An easy-to-assemble reamer for medical applications includes a shaft portion, a disposable tapered hollow reamer sleeve and a modular pilot. The shaft portion has a proximal end for attachment to a drill, a central cone element with one or more slots and a distal threaded end. The tapered hollow reamer sleeve has integrally attached one or more torque transmitting tabs at the larger end and a collet taper at the smaller end and slides over the shaft distal end engaging tabs with the slots. The modular pilot has a threaded central aperture engaging shaft thread and a collet taper mating with the collet taper of the reamer sleeve substantially coinciding their centerlines. The disposable hollow cutter sleeve has a plurality of cutting elements and apertures that discharge bone and bone cement debris into the space between the reamer and the shaft. With this construction, the reamer transmits reliable, wobble free, reaming torque in a highly efficient manner.

    摘要： A balloon-type gastric band includes a balloon shaped and dimensioned to circumscribe a stomach at a predetermined location. A supply tube is secured to the balloon for fluid communication with an internal cavity of the balloon, wherein the supply tube includes both at least one colored section and at least one clear section for respectively contrasting the supply tube from surrounding tissue when placed within a patient and facilitating identification of leaks within the supply tube. In accordance with an alternate embodiment the supply tube is colored while remaining translucent.

    摘要： A wristband that can be attached comfortably to wrists or ankles of various sizes by adjusting a band length. The wristband includes: a display portion, a band portion in a first end portion of the wristband as an extension from one side of the display portion; the first end portion includes band holes, and is wrapped around a wrist or the like; a setting portion formed in the other end portion as an extension from the other side of the display portion, includes a setting hole, and is overlapped with the band portion to attach the wristband in loop form. Band hole displays are printed beside the band holes in positions corresponding to the respective band holes. Band hole displays constituted by the same sequence of numbers as the band hole displays are provided beside the band holes, and boundary marks indicating the application range of the corresponding band hole display are provided in a length measurement portion at identical intervals to the band holes.

    摘要： A wearable band with an adjustable size or length. The band includes a first band element with a raised center or identification member. The band includes a second band element with a body having a loop or lasso at one end defined by an inner surface of a sidewall. The outer sidewall of the raised center member is detachably coupled to the inner surface of the loop-defining sidewall when the center member is received within and captured by the loop such as by a snap detent arrangement. To allow sizing, the second band element includes both an inner band sizing element including the loop-defining sidewall at one of its ends and an outer band sizing element that is detachably coupled to the inner band sizing element. The length of the second band element is defined by the combined length of the inner and outer band sizing elements.

Separation of the implantable prosthesis and the tool may be conveniently accomplished without requiring the use of a sharp instrument. Attachment between the prosthesis and its surgical carrying tool can be accomplished in a suture-less fashion. The tool includes a suture management device in some embodiments for selectively receiving and maintaining sutures otherwise securing the prosthesis to tissue.

    摘要： A wearable band with an adjustable size or length. The band includes a base band element with an elongated, thin body extending a first length from a first sidewall to a second sidewall. The body may include a user identification member that stores user ID information for a wearer of the band. The band includes a band sizing assembly with one, two, three, or more band sizing segments that are detachable linked together such as via a tongue and groove interlocking mechanism. The band sizing assembly extends a second length from first sidewall to a second sidewall, and these sidewalls are configured for coupling or linking with the sidewalls of the base band element body so as to form a closed loop or bracelet with a third length. A user may size the band by selecting the number and size of the sizing segments used in the band sizing assembly.
