摘要： A suturing device includes first and second holding members, a plurality of needles, a needle moving mechanism, and a suture hook. The first and second holding members are configured to move toward and away from each other to sandwich therebetween edges of a cut. The needles are disposed at the first holding member and aligned in a needle arrangement direction with their points pointing to the second holding member. The needles are configured to hold a suture at tips thereof. The needle moving mechanism is configured to move the plurality of needles toward the second holding member. The suture hook is disposed at the second holding member and configured to move along the needle arrangement direction to catch the suture that has reached the second holding member via the edges of the cut by movement of the needles toward the second holding member by the needle moving mechanism.

摘要： A suture needle system includes a first needle and at least one second needle. Each of the first and second needles preferably has a common needle body construct. The first needle includes an elongate suture having a length sufficient to extend at least the length of an instrument channel of an endoscope. The second needle includes an opening formed by a loop of suture at which the second needle can be advanced over the elongate suture. In use, the first needle is secured to a first tissue location using an endoscopic suturing system. A second needle is advanced at its opening over the elongate suture and secured to a second tissue location. Additional second needles may be advanced over the elongate suture to respective tissue locations. The elongate suture is pulled taut, drawing the second needles into proximity, and secured.

摘要： A storage tray provides storage for multiple types of wires, catheters, and other instruments used during surgical procedures. The storage tray includes a base and a set of walls forming a basin that holds liquid. A wire containment section within the basin holds multiple coiled guidewires in a wire channel filled with the liquid. The wire containment section includes an inner wall and one or more wall segments forming an outer boundary of the wire channel. Flaps extend orthogonally from the walls and over portions of the wire channel to prevent the guidewire from springing out of the wire channel. A wire holder outside the wire channel holds end portions of the guidewires. Pulling an end portion of one of the coiled guidewires horizontally causes the guidewire to slide along the inner wall for separation and removal from the storage tray.

摘要： A surgical instrument for use in passing suture through tissue is provided that includes first and second jaws disposed on a distal end of an elongate shaft and configured to grasp tissue therebetween, and a needle selectively movable along a longitudinal channel extending through an outer side wall of the first jaw. The first jaw has a cavity configured to seat a removable and replaceable suture magazine. The suture magazine can be coupled to a suture magazine carrier that is removed before the surgical instrument is activated cause to the needle to advance distally and thereby pass a suture coupled thereto through tissue in a patient's body. As the needle is retracted proximally, a subsequent suture portion, such as a loop, is loaded onto the needle. The jaws remain in the body during passing the suture through the tissue.

摘要： Described herein is a simplified placement system and method for a tissue graft or “suture anchor”, threaded, knotless or otherwise, by which a surgeon may introduce one or more sutures into a hole in a boney tissue, apply a precise amount of tension to the sutures to advance a soft tissue graft to a desired location, and then advance the anchor into the bone, preferably while maintaining the requisite pre-determined suture tension and without introducing spin to the suture. The simplified placement system and method of the present invention allows the surgeon to establish the graft position and, while maintaining that position, secure the anchor without changing the suture tension or causing a shift in the graft position and furthermore, when the anchor is threaded, without spinning of the suture. In certain preferred embodiments, the distal end of the device includes a resiliently deformable polymeric distal element, optionally including a “split” suture-capturing loop, that allows for the retention of multiple sutures. In other embodiments, the distal end may further include a depth or penetration-limiting element formed of a suitable metallic or polymeric material that serves to prevent the distal end of the device from excessively penetrating, damaging or tearing a tissue graft of interest.
