Abstract:
Methods for providing a group play list for a plurality of multimedia content records include associating respective ones of a plurality of users associated with a user network with corresponding ones of the multimedia content records on the group play list. A presence status of the respective ones of the users associated with the user network is detected. Rendering of the multimedia content records on the group play list to the users associated with the network is automatically adjusted based on the detected presence status. The user network may be, for example, a computer based social network.
Abstract:
A laser handpiece is disclosed, including a shaped fiber optic tip having a side-firing output end with a non-cylindrical shape. The shaped fiber optic tip can be configured to side-fire laser energy in a direction away from a laser handpiece and toward sidewalls of a treatment or target site.
Abstract:
A dental appliance is described herein. In one embodiment, the dental appliance comprises a concave trough conforming to a plurality of teeth when placed over the plurality of teeth. The concave trough is configured to transition from a first shape to a second shape if a deforming force is applied. The concave trough comprises a shape memory material. The shape memory material is configured to restore the concave trough to an approximate first shape upon an application of an external stimulus. The first shape is configured to apply a first force on a tooth when the trough conforms.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an orthodontic wire and a manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly, to an orthodontic wire, which is not harmful to the human body and is capable of continuously holding the color of teeth, and a manufacturing method of the orthodontic wire. According to the present invention, there is provided an orthodontic wire, comprising a metal wire formed of a shape memory alloy material; a silver (Ag) film applied to a surface of the metal wire; and a polymer compound film applied to a surface of the silver (Ag) film to prevent the silver (Ag) film from being discolored.
Abstract:
A fluid conditioning system is adapted to condition the fluid used in medical and dental cutting, irrigating, evacuating, cleaning, and drilling operations. The fluid may be conditioned by adding flavors, antiseptics and/or tooth whitening agents such as peroxide, medications, and pigments. In addition to the direct benefits obtained from introduction of these agents, the laser cutting properties may be varied from the selective introduction of the various agents.
Abstract:
An arch wire assembly for use in light force orthodontic treatment techniques which includes the ability to provide a torquing force to selected teeth. The arch wire assembly includes an arch wire comprising first and second cylindrical arch wire bodies extending between a first end and a second end. The arch wire bodies are disposed in adjacent contact one with another. The arch wire assembly further includes clamping or other fixing structures for fixing the first and second arch wire bodies relative to one another so as to allow the first and second cylindrical arch wire bodies to act as a single arch wire having a non circular cross-sections. This allows for application of torquing corrective forces against an arch wire slot of an orthodontic bracket during an orthodontic treatment in much the same way as a rectangular arch wire but with lower arch wire stiffness. This allows for light force orthodontic treatment.

Abstract:
Endodontic device comprising an endodontic instrument (1) for being inserted in a dental root canal, comprising extensometer means (4), from which a signal can be obtained that is a function of the deformation of the instrument (1), and processing means (6) for receiving and processing the signal to provide a medical operator with information on the stress acting on the instrument (1), and consequently on the morphological characteristics of the dental root canal.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a root canal treatment tool that is formed in a shape of a rod and has a work portion formed in a predetermined length from a tip and a shank formed in a manner continuous with the work portion. The work portion has a shape memory characteristic in a range of a predetermined length from the tip and a superelastic characteristic in a remaining portion.
Abstract:
A series of orthodontic appliances is used in sequence to move the patient's teeth to desired positions. In one aspect, the shape of at least a portion of the patient's dental arch is determined, and a series of appliances is then selected based on the determined shape. In another aspect, the appliances are resilient and used in a sequence such that the stiffness of the current appliance in use increases as the course of treatment progresses.
