Abstract:
A set of a first and a second preparation are intended to be mixed before or during an endodontic treatment to form an endodontic irrigation solution. The first preparation includes an oxidizing agent. The second preparation includes antibacterial nanoparticles treated to slow their oxidation by the oxidizing agent. The antibacterial nanoparticles are, for example, encapsulated in shells in a hybrid core-shell structure. In one variation, the antibacterial nanoparticles are made from an alloy of at least two elements, one of the elements being more resistant to oxidation than the other.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing cosmetic treatment to skin comprise one material chemically active in a solid form preferably in a tablet form and a second material which is chemically reactive with the first material so that effervescence is produced during the reaction. The chemically active materials may be activated by a user for providing cosmetic treatment to skin. The activation releases effervescence which urges granules of the reacting materials onto the skin. The size of the granules lowers during the reaction thus providing continuously refining peeling to the skin.

Also a related composition, use, kit and process.
Abstract:
The present invention mainly relates to a cosmetic composition for keratin fibers, comprising: (a) at least one fatty material; (b) at least one nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 10 or less; (c) at least one nonionic surfactant with an HLB of more than 10; and (d) water wherein the weight ratio of the total amount of the (b) nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 10 or less and the (c) nonionic surfactant with an HLB of more than 10 to the amount of the (a) fatty substance is from 0.6 to 6.0, preferably from 0.6 to 5.0, and more preferably from 0.6 to 4.0; and the weight ratio of the total amount of the (a) fatty substance, (b) nonionic surfactant with an HLB of 10 or less and (c) at least one nonionic surfactant with an HLB more than 10 to the amount of the (d) water is from 0.5 to 1.30, preferably from 0.5 to 1.25, and more preferably from 0.5 to 1.20.
Abstract:
Present invention relates to a hair coloring process which allows visualization of the color to be achieved prior to coloring hair using a sheet (1) comprising two or more areas (2) having each different natural hair color.
Abstract:
Compositions of reducing agents and carriers for producing a stable negative oxidation reduction potential in consumable materials are disclosed and claimed. Compositions of the invention find use in enhancing the hydration and anti-oxidant value of consumable materials such as foods, beverages and cosmetics, for example. Compositions of the invention also find use in water treatment, agricultural and scientific research applications. Methods for using and making the compositions are also within the scope of the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for dyeing or lightening keratin fibers, comprising the step of extemporaneously mixing at the time of use two compositions (A) and (B) and of applying the said mixture to the said fibers; the said mixture comprising at least 25% by weight of fatty substances relative to the total weight of the composition obtained from the mixing of two compositions (A)+(B); with: —(A) representing a composition in direct emulsion form whose content of oil(s) ii) is at least 30% by weight relative to the weight of composition (A), and comprising: i) at least one nonionic surfactant that is solid at room temperature and at atmospheric pressure, with an HLB ranging from 1.5 to 10; ii) at least one basifying agent; Hi) optionally at least one additional surfactant other than the solid nonionic surfactants (i), iv) optionally at least one dye; and —(B) representing a composition comprising at least one chemical oxidizing agent. A subject of the present invention is also a multi-compartment device and a composition (A) in direct emulsion form and the ready-to-use composition resulting from the mixing of compositions (A) and (B). The process according to the invention makes it possible to dye keratin fibers in a powerful, intense and/or homogeneous manner while at the same time being easy to prepare and to apply, since the mixture in the form of an oil-rich emulsion does not run, but remains localized at the point of application. The process of the invention also makes it possible to lighten keratin fibers in a noteworthy manner.
Abstract:
The current invention comprises methods and compositions for straightening hair. Using embodiments of the current invention, curly hair can be effectively and safely straightened by a method that is milder and less damaging than the current art and does not employ ingredients such as formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde that are considered noxious and raise significant toxicological concerns. In one or more embodiments of the invention, a low concentration of sodium hydroxide (˜0.5-0.6%) is applied prior to the application of an oil (preferably a vegetable oil), followed by treatment with a flat iron, or similar, heated to ˜180-200° C. In one or more alternative embodiments of the invention, the sodium hydroxide and oil-containing compositions are combined and applied to the hair in a single step. The improvements extended by this invention beyond the current art include: reduced damage to hair; reduced potential for damage to the skin and eyes; elimination of noxious chemicals; avoidance of chemical systems that are banned in a number of countries; greater resistance to reversion; longer lasting results; and as a consequence of these considerations, potential for home (non-professional) usage.
