Abstract: A load indicator for use with a railway car hand brake that is connected to a railway car brake rigging comprising a housing, a plurality of levers pivotally mounted in the housing, each of the plurality of levers having a first end and an opposite second end, a plate coupled to each of the plurality of lever second ends, wherein the plate is moveable with respect to the housing, and a plurality of springs each operatively coupled between a respective one of the plurality of lever first ends and the housing. Abstract: A bicycle hydraulic brake actuation device includes a hydraulic master cylinder housing having a bore, a lever, a master piston and an adjuster. The lever is pivotally coupled to the hydraulic master cylinder housing for movement between an at rest position and a brake engagement position. The master piston is disposed within the bore and having an adjustment end. The adjuster is operably disposed between the adjustment end of the master piston and a portion of the lever. The adjuster is movable between a plurality of adjustment positions relative to the adjustment end such that with the lever in the at rest position, movement of the adjuster between the plurality of adjustment positions moves the master piston between a corresponding plurality of adjustment positions along an axial length of the bore.

Abstract: Described herein is a bicycle brake assembly which comprises a torsion spring attached to brake arms by bosses. The torsion spring simultaneously attaches to a slide bolt, while the slide bolt attaches to a slide member. When the rider applies pressure upon the bike handlebar levers, the tension from the bicycle cable pulls the slide bolt and engaged slide member upward. The torsion spring attached to the slide bolt flexes, thereby pulling the upper brake arms toward each other. The lower brake arm movement towards the bicycle rim results in abutment of brake shoes against the bicycle rim.

Abstract: A novel brake assembly is provided for a bicycle. The assembly is composed of an arrangement of a pair of brake pads each connected to a rod member in turn guided for axial movement by a base fixed on the bicycle frame. A bifurcated control cable actuates wedge members causing movement of the pads against a wheel rim. Return springs on the rod members cause the assembly to return to the original non-braking position in response to release of the control cable. As an option, a second wedge action can be incorporated that is activated by the frictional forces generated from the contact of the brake pads with the wheel rim. The second wedge action is limited by a mechanical stop within the brake assembly to prevent jamming of the brakes.

A hydraulic device is connected to the pivotable member so as to pivot the pivotable member. Two brake arms are located on two sides of the rim and two respective first ends of two link units are respectively connected to two ends of each of the brake arms. Abstract: Bicycle brake shoes are provided for a bicycle braking device. The brake shoes are pressed into contact with a bicycle wheel rim to apply a braking force thereto. The brake shoes are coupled to the bicycle braking device by brake shoe holders. Each brake shoe includes an attachment portion coupled to the brake shoe holder and a rim contacting portion for contacting the side braking surface of the rim. The brake shoes are formed from a polymer that is obtained by cross-linking Nitrile Buna Rubber, Styrene-butadiene rubber with sulfur.
