    摘要: An apparatus for mounting underwater marine detection equipment on a waterborne vessel is provided having a baseplate which is secured to a side of the waterborne vessel. The baseplate extends outward from the side of the waterborne vessel over the surface of the water. A shaft holder bracket is rotatably mounted to the baseplate such that the shaft holder bracket may rotate in a plane generallyparallel to the forward and reverse direction of the waterborne vessel from a first position to a second position. The shaft holder bracket has a through passageway to receive a shaft. An elongate shaft having an upper portion and a lower portion which are rotatably joined and separable, is slidably engaged through the passageway in the shaft holder bracket, such that the elongate shaft can rotate and slide within the shaft holder bracket. The shaft holder bracket has means to secure the elongate shaft from rotation and sliding. The elongate shaft has a handle on the top of the shaft and a marine detection equipment mount on the bottom of the shaft. The elongate shaft is long enough to extend below the bottom surface of the waterborne vessel when the shaft holder bracket is in the first position, and the elongate shaft is totally out of the water when the shaft holder bracket is rotated to the second position. The marine detection equipment mount is rotatably and adjustably attached to the lower portion of the elongate shaft, such that the marine detection equipment mount can rotate 360 degrees in a plane perpendicular to the surface of the water. The marine detection equipment mount has means to secure marine detection equipment.

    摘要: An accessory bracket is provided for mounting an accessory, such as a mirror or other instrument, close to the field of vision of a pilot of a boat, for instance. The bracket is mounted to a tower or other structure with a mount forming a clamp so that the bracket and an attached accessory are above the lines of sight of the pilot, thereby avoiding obstructing the pilot's view of the environment of the boat. The bracket includes an arm extending from the mount and a post extending from the arm. The mount is adjustable relative to the structure, and the bracket is accordingly adjustable. The accessory is mounted to the post and is adjustable relative to the post such that the accessory may rotate around the post and may pivot relative to the post. The arm may include a hinge for raising and lowering a portion of the arm and the attached post and accessory. These adjustment characteristics allow a pilot to position the accessory in a desired position dependent on the pilot's lines of sight so that the accessory remains close to the pilot's field of vision.

    摘要: A method and system for continuously treating ship ballast water enroute to reduce or eliminate harmful microorganisms therefrom, before discharge of the ballast water into coastal waters. During the ships voyage, and before the ballast water is discharged, the ballast water is continually passed through an interconnected UV sterilization system for treatment by ultraviolet radiation. One or more dispensing pumps are provided to transport the ballast water through the length of the UV system, which includes one or more UV units to process and sterilize the ballast water. In cases where large volumes of water need to be processed or where individual ship design is limiting, secondary piping to divert the flow of ballast water from the main piping system through placement of diverter valves, may be added to incorporate additional UV units or pumps. Flow jets secured to the inside of a ballast tank or hold may also be used to ensure proper circulation and mixing of the ballast water to be treated.

The two component parts of the apparatus may be formed by compression molding or injection molding. Even if the surface of the grip face member includes fine detail work, injection molding can effectively transfer such detail from a metal mold into the finished part. Accordingly, the grip face member can be made to include fine detail work.
