    摘要: A liquid fuel injection nozzle unit includes a valve member which is loaded by a spring into contact with a seating and is movable away from said seating by the action of fuel under pressure. The head of the valve member is provided with groove means to promote swirling of the fuel downstream of the valve member as the valve member is opened. The groove means is so constructed that the effective cross sectional area of the grooves attains a maximum value before the valve member has moved to its fully opened position whereby the proportion of the total flow of fuel which flows through the groove means decreases as the valve member attains its fully opened position.

    摘要: An electromagnetically operated fuel injection valve wherein the armature has an annular sealing surface surrounded by an annular chamber and is normally biased against the rear side of a nozzle. The chamber receives fuel by way of one or more channels which extend from the peripheral surface of the armature toward the bottom surface of the channel so that their projections into the plane of the sealing surface are tangential to the chamber. This causes fuel which enters the chamber to circulate therein whereby the magnitude of the axial component of movement of the fuel determines the rate at which the fuel enters the orifice of the nozzle when the electromagnet is energized to retract the armature from the nozzle.

    摘要: A nozzle plate for a fuel injection device opposes a fuel injection port of a fuel injection device. A nozzle hole through which fuel injected from the fuel injection port passes is formed at the nozzle plate. At this nozzle plate for the fuel injection device, the nozzle hole has a fuel-flow-in-side opening end with a circular shape. The nozzle hole is coupled to the fuel injection port via fuel guide channels. The fuel guide channels have an opening into the nozzle hole, and a pair of opposing channel sidewalls. The opening has a channel width smaller than a hole diameter of the nozzle hole. One of the opposing channel sidewalls is formed to extend in a tangential direction of the nozzle hole. The fuel is directly flowed into the nozzle hole to generate a flow of the fuel in a spiral pattern in the nozzle hole.

    摘要: A nozzle hole of a nozzle plate is connected to a fuel injection nozzle of a fuel injection unit through a swirl chamber and first and second fuel guide grooves opened to the swirl chamber. The swirl chamber is an oval recess provided with the nozzle orifice in its center. A first fuel guide groove is opened to one end side of a major axis of the oval recess, and a second fuel guide groove is opened to the other end side of the major axis of the oval recess. The first and second fuel guide grooves are formed such that the same amount of fuel flows to the swirl chamber. The same amount of fuel flowing from the first and second fuel guide grooves to the swirl chamber is guided to the nozzle orifice at the same time while revolving inside the swirl chamber in the same direction.

    摘要: A fuel injection valve includes: a needle valve including a seat portion on a tip side thereof; a nozzle body including a seat surface on which the seat portion is placed, and a swirl stabilization chamber on a downstream side of the seat surface, the nozzle body having an injection hole formed so as to have an inlet in the swirl stabilization chamber; a swirl flow generating portion having swirl grooves configured to give a swirling component to fuel to be introduced into the swirl stabilization chamber; and a fuel collision portion provided in a tip portion of the needle valve, the fuel collision portion being configured such that, in a state where the needle valve is opened, the fuel collision portion intersects with a virtual surface extended toward the injection hole from the seat surface included in the nozzle body. This allows dead fuel to be retained in the swirl stabilization chamber and to be introduced into the injection hole in a state where a swirling component has been given to the dead fuel from fuel having the swirling component.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel injection valve that is made superior in atomization performance by preventing an influence of minute deformation occurring when an orifice plate is assembled to a nozzle body, thereby reducing fuel leakage from a swirling passage to increase the strength of a swirl flow. The valve includes a valve body openable and closable to jet fuel; a nozzle body having a valve seat surface capable of coming into contact with the valve body to block the jet of fuel; and an orifice plate disposed downstream of the valve seat surface and having a plurality of fuel injection holes adapted to jet swirl fuel. The nozzle body has an end face portion with a downwardly convex inclined surface.

    摘要: A fuel injector-igniter incorporating adaptive swirl injection and ignition. The fuel injector-igniter comprises a housing, an actuator, and a valve. The valve includes a valve head operative to open and close against a valve seat in response to activation of the actuator. The valve seat includes an electrode portion extending beyond the valve head and within the housing to form at least one gap, such as an annular gap. A current discharge between the housing and electrode portion establishes a plasma and electromagnetic forces driving the plasma from the gap. The injector-igniter may further comprise a power supply connected to the housing and valve seat that is operative to provide the current discharge. The electrode portion includes a plurality of flow shaping features, such as a plurality of twisted fins disposed around the electrode portion and thereby operative to impart a rotation to the plasma.
