    Abstract: The invention concerns a hydraulic accumulator comprising a piston (3) capable of moving in an accumulator housing (1) in the axial direction thereof, and separating a gas side (5) from a liquid side (7) of the accumulator housing (1). Guide elements (9, 17) designed to co-operate with the accumulator housing wall (1), as well as at least one sealing element (15) arranged at the periphery of said piston. The sealing element is arranged offset in the axial direction relative to the guide elements (9, 17), in said peripheral part of the piston (3) located between said guide elements. In the piston (3) is a pressure compensating channel (19) which forms, at the piston periphery, a liquid flow path between the liquid side (7) and a space (2) located between the guide element (17) nearest to the liquid side (7) and the sealing element immediately next in the axial direction. A device (25) reducing the cross-section of the passage of the pressure compensating channel (19) is located therein.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an accumulator comprising a cylindrical shell including a cylindrical portion, a partitioning member for partitioning the interior of the shell into a hydraulic chamber and a gas chamber, and a port including a hydraulic fluid flow path for communicating the exterior of the shell and the hydraulic chamber. The variation of the pressure of a hydraulic fluid flowing into the hydraulic chamber is accommodated by expansion and compression of a gas in the gas chamber according to expansion and contraction of the partitioning member. The port is approximately airtightly inserted into the cylindrical portion of the shell, and is welded to an outer circumference of the cylindrical portion by means of welding.

    Abstract: A vehicle brake system has a gas pressure accumulator (10) comprising a housing (12), the interior of which is divided by metal bellows (16) into a gas-sensed gas chamber (20) and a fluid chamber (22). Via a feed line (24) a fluid may be supplied under pressure to and removed from the fluid chamber (22), wherein provided between the fluid chamber (22) and the feed line (24) is a valve arrangement (74), which closes when the pressure in the feed line (24) drops below a minimum value and opens when the pressure exceeds the minimum value. To increase the operational reliability of the gas pressure accumulator (10), the valve arrangement (74) closes when the pressure in the feed line (24) exceeds a maximum value and opens when the pressure drops below the maximum value.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a pressure fluid accumulator with a housing having its interior subdivided into two chambers by a media-separating element, the first chamber being filled with a gas and the second chamber being filled with a liquid, and wherein in a hydraulic port a bottom valve is provided whose closure member is operable by the media-separating element and which permits filling the second chamber with liquid and prevents complete evacuation of the second chamber. In order to prevent a damage of the bottom valve and an inadvertent escape of fluid and, thus, ensure a considerable increase in the reliability in operation, according to the present invention, the closure member can be moved by the media-separating element to adopt a position in which it fulfils the function of a hydraulic piston.

    Abstract: A gas-pressurized collapsible bladder inside a fluid accumulator in a hydraulic system has a detection device that informs a user about the state of inflation of the bladder. Abnormalities in system operation, e.g., a gas leak from the collapsible bladder or sudden turning on of the fluid-actuated device in the system can cause bladder deflation whereas clogging of lines or sudden stoppage of a fluid-actuated device may cause fluid pressure rise in the system, and hence, deflation of the collapsible bladder to actuate the detection device. In one aspect of the invention, the condition of the bladder is detected by use of a permanent magnet that actuates a reed relay. In another aspect of the invention, a light-emitting diode, a reflector and a photosensor detect the bladder condition.

    Abstract: A pressure accumulator having a hollow cylindrical housing which is inserted into the mouth of a cylindrical cavity in the body of a hydraulically operated apparatus or machine. The inner end of the cavity has a threaded recess adapted to receive the correspondingly threaded end of the housing. The interior of the accumulator housing mounts a deformable bladder in which is positioned an axially extending support member in the shape of a dumbell or hour glass, one end of which is screwed into the mouth of the housing and the other end of which is normally spaced from the closed end of the bladder, the latter having an axially mounted valve member adapted to close the axial oil port of the housing which is aligned with a fluid port in the threaded recess into which the end of the housing is screwed. The support member is designed to prevent twisting and folding over of the bladder when it is deformed which would result in cracking of the bladder at the region of the folds and failure thereof.
