摘要： A sequence controller controls an image forming apparatus which includes a plurality of paper supply paths, a plurality of paper eject paths, an image forming device, and abnormally informing devices for informing an abnormity in the paper supply and eject paths. The sequence controller includes a memory device for storing at least image forming information related to a plurality of pages, the image forming information including image data related to images to be formed and paper path information for selecting one paper supply path and one paper eject path out of the plurality of paper supply and eject paths, and a control device for controlling an image forming operation of the image forming apparatus so as to form an image using the selected paper supply and eject paths which are selected by the paper path information. The control device has a function of automatically changing at least the paper path information related to an arbitrary one of the pages, in response to an abnormity in at least one of the selected paper supply and eject paths informed by the abnormity informing device.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section for forming an image on a sheet, a main convey mechanism for delivering the sheet to outside the image forming apparatus through the image forming section, and a reconvey mechanism for separating the sheet from the main convey mechanism at the downstream side of the image forming section, and merging the separated sheet to the upstream side of the image forming section. The reconvey mechanism has a gate for separating the sheet from the main convey mechanism to the reconvey mechanism, and a detector for detecting the jam of the sheet in the reconvey mechanism. The image forming apparatus also includes a control circuit and the like for preventing the separation of the sheet by the gate, and then delivering the sheet following the jammed sheet to outside the image forming apparatus.

The mounting member is rotatably supported by a supporting member which can slide out of the housing of the copying machine. The supporting member also supports a developing station. When the supporting member is pulled out of the housing, the developing station can be displaced on the supporting member away from the photoreceptor and the mounting member can be rotated so as to expose the photoreceptor such that its surface becomes accessible from outside.

摘要： A copying apparatus provided with an automatic paper feeding mechanism capable of feeding paper manually, wherein a manual paper feeding passage is connected to a copy paper transporting passage of the automatic paper feeding mechanism, and a plurality of sensors are provided in the way of paper feeding passage to detect the inserting state of a manually fed copy paper. When a manually fed copy paper is inserted to a predetermined position of the manual paper feeding passage, the sensors detect the state of insertion and display them to let an operator know that the copy paper has been inserted to the predetermined position and state an image forming operation. If the manually fed copy paper has been pulled out after the image forming operation was started, the image forming operation is executed on the minimum size of the copy paper.

A drive mechanism selectively applies a force to the feed member so that the feed member is brought into contact with the medium so as to feed the medium. A controlling means supplies a first control signal to the drive mechanism in response to a medium feed instruction signal. The medium can be sufficiently fed in accordance with the first control signal. The controlling means also supplies a second control signal to the drive mechanism in response to an error processing instruction signal when an error occurs. The feed member is separated from the medium in accordance with the second control signal.

摘要： An electrophotographic apparatus is disclosed, which has a transfer unit for transferring a toner image formed on a photoconductive drum onto a paper sheet and a manual paper feeding section for manually feeding the paper sheet to the transfer unit. A manually fed paper detector is provided in the proximity of the outlet of the manual paper feeding section. If the manually fed paper detector does not detect any paper continuously for a predetermined period of time from the start of a copying operation, this event is judged to be due to a paper feeding error, whereupon the copying operation is interrupted while the electrophotographic apparatus is restored to a stand-by state.
