    摘要: It is an object of the invention to provide a dielectric drum where manufacturing costs can be reduced while keeping pressure resistance high and having an anodic oxidized film with a uniform dielectric characteristic, and also to provide an electrostatic recording device which is inexpensive and provides a high image reliability using the dielectric drum. According to the present invention, a dielectric drum includes an aluminum substrate and a dielectric layer of an anodic oxidized film on the surface of the aluminum substrate. The aluminum substrate is produced by conducting a drawing and hardening treatment M on an aluminum alloy pipe of the 5000 series alloys of the Aluminum Association. Also, the dielectric drum is used to construct an electrostatic recording device. The electrostatic recording device includes toner image forming means for forming a toner image on a dielectric drum, and pressure applying means for transferring by pressure or transferring and fixing by pressure the toner image on the dielectric drum to a member to be transferred.

    摘要: A recording member comprising a conductive substrate having a dielectric coating thereon. The recording member is particularly useful with the electrographic recording process and apparatus described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,816,840. The dielectric coating exhibits charge dissipation properties that will allow removal and replacement of toner powder within one operating cycle of the aformentioned recording process, and the surface of the coating is sufficiently durable to allow the recording member to be used repeatedly, e.g., at least about 20,000 cycles, before the conductive substrate needs to be recoated.

    摘要: An improved aqueous process for making a conductive medium for electrostatic printing and the conductive medium therefrom, the process comprising applying to one side of a high density basestock a partially insolubilizable aqueous conductive latex precoat, preferably ranging in coat weight from 0.5 to 1.0 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, the insolubiliztion of the conductive latex resulting from a partial insolubilization of the major conductive component of the latex; applying to the other side of the basestock a first aqueous low-resistance conductive precoat preferably having a coat weight of about 2 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2 ; partially insolubilizing the conductive latex precoat; applying to the partially insolubilized latex precoat an aqueous dielectric coating preferably ranging in coat weight from 4.5 to 6.5 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2 ; and applying to the first low-resistance precoat a second aqueous low-resistance conductive coating preferably ranging in coat weight from 0.5 to 1.5 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2. The conductive paper comprises on the one side of a high density basestock a partially insolubilized aqueous conductive latex layer, preferably ranging in weight from 0.5 to 1.0 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2, the insolubilization of the conductive latex resulting from a partial insolubilization of the major conductive component of the latex and on top thereof a dielectric layer preferably ranging in weight from 4.5 to 6.5 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2 and comprises on the other side of the basestock at least two aqueous conductive layers, preferably having a total weight of from about 2.5 to 3.5 pounds per 3000 ft.sup.2.

    摘要: A process for producing an electrostatic recording material which comprises kneading a hydrophobic pigment having a critical surface tension of 50 dynes/cm or less with an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer consisting of (I) 10 to 50% by weight of methacrylic acid, (II) 5 to 50% by weight of a alkenyl aromatic compound and (III) 30 to 85 % by weight of at least one member selected from the group consisting of conjugated diolefins, alkyl acrylates and alkyl methacrylates; having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 40.degree. C or less; and having an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.] of 0.1 to 1.0 dl/g as measured in tetrahydrofuran at 25.degree. C, in a weight ratio of the copolymer to the pigment of 100/20 to 100/200, in the presence of an alkaline material in such a proportion that the viscosity of the aqueous dispersion of the copolymer becomes at least 350 cps, adjusting the viscosity of the aqueous dispersion containing the copolymer and the hydrophobic pigment to 10 to 5,000 cps, coating the resulting coating composition on the surface of an electroconductive base sheet and drying the same. Said process can produce, with a high production efficiency, an electrostatic recording material having a substantially glossless appearance like ordinary paper of office use, being excellent in writability with a pencil and an aqueous ink, stampability and printability, and being capable of recording clear copy images thereon.
