摘要： The elastic cord tensioning and length adjusting apparatus is designed to allow the user to have much more flexibility with a single length elastic cord, rather than using a number of cords of different lengths. The apparatus can adjust, both the tension and length of elastic cords, by allowing the user to loop different lengths of the cord in a mechanism that can lock the looped section of elastic cord so that the length of the cord not in the loop is shortened and the tension is increased. The apparatus comprises a main horizontal body having two apertures designed for the cord to pass through. A locking mechanism fits into a center aperture in the main horizontal body and has two end notches to allow the elastic cord to fit into those notches. A spring tensioning device and a retaining piece maintain the lock in position.

摘要： A tiedown hitch for trucks and the like includes a medial body portion having a longitudinal axis, with a hook portion extending from one end and an eye portion extending from the opposed end. An interior hook surface is provided with an insert having a relatively large radius, so that the rope or line cannot be abraded or damaged by engagement with the hook. The hook insert may comprise a channel member bent into an arcuate shape and pressed onto the interior hook surface. Alternatively, the interior hook surface may be chamfered to provide a smooth arcuate exterior face to engage the rope or line secured about the hook portion. The eye portion includes a closed interior slot extending generally coaxially with the longitudinal axis and dimensioned to receive the rope or line therethrough. The medial body portion includes an arcuate closed slot formed therein, the slot defining a single finger that serves as a cleat to secure the rope or line passing thereabout. To use the tiedown hitch, one end of a rope is secured to a cleat on the truck, and passed through the eye slot and wrapped about the cleat finger. The rope is then passed back through the eye slot, so that the tiedown hitch is anchored immovably with respect to the cleat securing the rope. The free end of the rope is then extended over or about the load, and secured about a second cleat on the truck. The free end is then passed around the hook portion of the tiedown hitch, and returned to the second cleat. The rope extends in three plies from the hook to the second cleat, so that a mechanical advantage of three to one is established. The free end of the rope is pulled to tighten the rope to the desired extent, and the free end is then tied to the second cleat or another nearby fixed object.

摘要： A rope-tying device is disclosed which facilitates convenient and efficient formation of a loop in the free end portion of a rope. Economical fabrication and efficient use of the device is facilitated by its configuration as a unitary, generally cylindrical tubular body formed from a single piece of material. The tubular defines a pair of diametrically opposed, longitudinally extending slots, with the body including a pair of annular end body portions, and a pair of diametrically opposed side body portions extending between the end body portions. For loop-formation, the free end portion of a rope is inserted through the device, and a half-loop displaced laterally through one of the slots. The free end of the rope is thereafter inserted through the half-loop, with tension exerted to complete loop-formation.

摘要： A hand held, trigger-actuated bow string release device has an elongate transversely flexible hand grip member coupled to and extending rearwardly from the rearward end of the body of the device. The hand grip member is coupled at its rearward end to a plate-like abutment member transverse to the longitudinal extent of the grip member so that when the grip member is gripped within a user's hand, the abutment member seats against the outer edge of the hand to prevent the grip member from being pulled forwardly from the hand as the grip member is longitudinally tensioned during drawing of the bow. The rearward end of the body is inclined with respect to the forward end of the body to provide ease of access to the trigger during use of the device.

摘要： The invention provides a wire tensioning member for providing spring tension in a fence wire. There is provided a spring steel member of a resiliently deformable compound curvature, with the wire being attachable to one end, and the other end being provided with an engaging portion or shaft engageable in a recess provided on a fence post or other fixed ground anchor. The particular application is to provide resilience in light gauge (i.e. between 12-22 gauge) high tensile wire used in electric fencing systems. The resilience of the wire tensioning member also enables it to be used as a conventional gate handle, and furthermore enables the fence to be tensioned to provide overhead or pinned gates in any desired part of the fence for animals or vehicles to pass therethrough.
