The configuration of the switching networks is such that current flows through an energy dissipating resistor only when the solenoid is commanded off by the solenoid control circuit, and not during the current limit cycle. Thus, the energy dissipated by this resistor is reduced relative to other solenoid control circuits, making it more efficient, and reducing EMI emissions from the circuit while providing for a fast solenoid response.

    摘要: The invention relates to a load drive circuit wherein an emergency shutdown switch for forcible interruption and a normal shutdown switch for normal current control are disposed in series in a load power supply circuit. An emergency shutdown switch (SW.sub.A) and a normal shutdown switch (SW.sub.B) are disposed in series in a load power supply circuit. The normal shutdown switch (SW.sub.B) is periodically driven off for a short time by means of a control signal (X) from a normal shutdown switch control circuit (30), and the fact that this is off is monitored by an output signal (AC) from a monitoring circuit (40). If the output signal (AC) is not generated for an off-delay time or more of an off-delay circuit (21), then a control signal (Z) for an emergency shutdown switch control circuit (20) is stopped thereby forcibly switching off the emergency shutdown switch (SW.sub.A).

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device for setting a timer circuit, especially in a fuse (1b), there being used a setting unit (1a) for the transfer of setting signal to the timer circuit which is housed in the fuse (1b). For the purpose of simplifying the communication between the fuse (1b) and the fuse setting unit (1a), both as regards to avoiding previous calibration of the timer reference of the system, and as regards a reduction of the electro-mechanical contact connection between the fuse (1b) and the setting unit (1a) to a minimum, it has according to the invention been suggested that there are provided setting signals such that the time to which the timer circuit is to be set, is transferred from the setting unit (1a) to the fuse (1b) by pulse width modulation of the power supply voltage. The setting signal can then be transferred via only two contacts (K1, K2) on the surface of the fuse. The modulation can be to the fact of increasing the power supply voltage from a certain first value (V+) to a higher value (V++) and back to the first value (V+).

    摘要: A stand for an electric iron incorporates an automatic time delay safety switch arrangement which reduces the chances of fires being started by an unattended iron and serves to save a substantial amount of electric energy by cutting off the current to the iron when it is left turned-on but unattended. The stand includes a hinged, spring biased platform of insulating material for supporting an electric iron during non-use periods. Placement of the iron on the platform causes the platform to pivot closing a normally open switch. Closure of the switch energizes a standard electrically energized time delay relay mounted on the platform. After lapse of a predetermined time period, the time delay relay actuates a manually resettable electric relay from a first condition allowing the electric iron to be energized from a power supply socket on the platform to a second latched condition whereby the iron is deenergized. Should the iron be removed from the platform before the lapse of the predetermined time period, the iron remains energized and the time delay automatically resets itself for the next placement of the iron on the platform. Actuation of the resettable relay to its second position also causes the time delay means to be automatically reset. However, a manual reset button on the resettable relay must be actuated to return the resettable relay to its first condition from the second condition to again energize the iron.

The central control means (108) includes a plurality of manual switches (540) each connecting the time switch output bus-bars (530, 532) to the thermostatic switches (411, 413) of an associated one of the heat outlets to manually set the heat output of the heat outlet. The time switch and each manual switch (540) cooperate in such a manner that each overrides the other as appropriate to keep the area heated by each outlet at an appropriate temperature.

    摘要: This unit interrupts normal operation of an electrical circuit energized in cycles by a time clock, for one of the cycles. The unit includes a first means actuable by means of a switch for bypassing the control circuit, at any time when it is desired to interrupt normal operation of the circuit during the next cycle. A second means for bypassing the first means does so if the circuit is energized at the time the switch is closed. A third means bypasses the control circuit when the second means is not actuated and the circuit is not in operation. The second bypassing means turns off if it is on when the time clock next turns off. The third bypassing means turns on when the time clock turns on again, and it returns the circuit to normal operation when the time clock turns off once again.
