摘要: This invention is related to the use of a volatile antimicrobial compound against pathogens. The volatile antimicrobial compounds provided include certain oxaborole compounds, for example benzoxaboroles. Delivery systems are provided to take advantage of the volatile nature of these antimicrobial compounds. The method and use disclosed can be combined with other volatile compounds.

摘要: Disclosed are antimicrobial releasing agents, methods of preparing the antimicrobial releasing agents, and entrained polymers containing antimicrobial releasing agents. The antimicrobial releasing agent is prepared with an acidified hydrophilic material with a pH below 3.5 as a carrier, an active compound, and a trigger. The entrained polymer of the invention releases an antimicrobial agent in gas form, such as ClO2, optionally over a range of concentration from 150 ppm to 1800 ppm per gram of the entrained polymer under certain tested conditions.

摘要: A stable concentrated solution of a metam salt and a polysulfide, particularly calcium polysulfide, can be used to treat for soil pathogens, including the pathogen responsible for potato early die. Calcium polysulfide alone in sufficient concentration and dosage provides activity against the same pathogen. It is believed that the high concentrations of the compounds, that is, the high concentration of lime sulfur admixed with a metam, results in lower rates of degradation that result from calcareous soil, increased soil adsorption or retention, and improved distribution of metam or methyl isothiocyanate (MITC) in the soil.
