Abstract: The invention relates to a deformable container (10) for delivering a liquid from a dispensing opening (12) on the sealing part (14), there being assigned to the ventilating opening (90) of the container (10) a ventilating valve (18) which is open in the event of underpressure in the container (10). The sealing part (14) is disposed on a metering element (20), which is inserted sealingly in the opening in the container (10) and is provided with two outlet ducts (24, 26). The outlet ducts (24, 26) serve to dispense the liquid in jet or drop form and can optionally be connected, by twisting the sealing part (14), to the dispensing opening (12) of the sealing part (14). The liquid is located in an inner bag (50), which is connected, in each case via a shut-off valve (64, 66), to the outlet ducts (24, 26). In an overhead position of the container (10), the liquid can be dispensed by compression of the container walls, depending upon the setting of the sealing part (14), in drop or jet form, by the corresponding nonreturn valve (64, 66) being opened whilst the ventilating valve (18) remains simultaneously closed. The nonreturn valve in question closes automatically, whilst the ventilating valve opens whenever the pressure exerted upon the container walls is lifted.

Abstract: The invention comprises a synthetic pack, in the filler container (11) of which there is integrated a compression spring element (16), against whose resistance a dispensing head (12) can be moved downwards with its carrier (18) of the filler container (11) and the filler can be pressurized. Abstract: A liquid dispensing nozzle assembly is provided for mounting on a liquid container and dispenser having a flexible wall and liquid storage cavity for manually squeezed dispensing of a liquid from the cavity through the nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly maintains the liquid, such as contact lens saline solution, in sterile condition during storage and repeated dispensing of the liquid from the container cavity. The nozzle assembly includes a liquid conduit for communication from the container cavity to a liquid discharge port from the nozzle assembly to enable dispensing of the liquid displaced by manually squeezing the flexible wall of the container. The nozzle assembly also includes an air aspiration conduit separate from the liquid conduit for aspirating air into the container cavity to replace the dispensed liquid. The nozzle assembly includes a partitioned diaphragm including separate portions respectively included in the liquid conduit and the air aspiration conduit. The air conduit portion of the diaphragm can include a filter which is hydrophobic and air permeable but impermeable to bacteria to prevent entrainment of bacteria with the aspirating flow of air into the liquid storage cavity of the container.

Abstract: A spray dispensing device is provided which can be used with non-pressurized containers. The device includes passageways for directing streams of air and liquid to a mixing chamber wherein the liquid is broken up into droplets and emitted as a fine spray through an orifice. An annular air passageway is concentrically disposed around a liquid passageway, both of which lead to the mixing chamber wherein the annular stream of air will be deflected by tapered walls of the mixing chamber to converge and impinge open the core stream of liquid, at a point in proximity to the orifice. The device may include a dip tube for the liquid which is provided with a check valve for retaining liquid at a high level in the dip tube after each spray cycle so that spraying is nearly instantaneous upon actuation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible spray bottle (10) for nasal spray, onto the bottle neck (14) of which a spray cap (12) is placed. The top wall (17) of the spray cap (12) contains a spray opening (20) and, on the underside, a connection piece (18) for a dip tube (21). A mixing-air passage (30, 31) extends between the connection piece (18) and the dip tube (21), with the result that a liquid/air mixture leaves the spray opening (20). Abstract: A device is used for spraying and atomizing a liquid which is held in a container which can be emptied by air pressure. If in a device of this kind a liquid nozzle projects into a mixture nozzle disposed coaxially in front of it, so that an annular space provided for air around the liquid nozzle is open at the front towards the mixture nozzle, the feed paths for liquid and for air must not be transposed. Such transposition occurs if the container is held upside-down during spraying. In order to avoid this disadvantage two annular spaces are provided, from which passages lead to a mixture nozzle. The two annular spaces communicate with one another via throttle slots. Because of the two annular spaces the liquid can also be sprayed when the container is upsidedown.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling a thin film beam spring vent valve is provided. The thin film beam spring vent valve is provided in a squeeze pump package. The package includes an outer resilient bottle and a flexible bag with a relatively rigid fitment. The outer resilient bottle is provided with a substantially cylindrical internal surface portion and an aperture to enable fluid communication between the interior and the exterior of the outer bottle. The valve includes a thin film beam spring located adjacent the aperture such that the beam spring will seal the aperture upon exposure to a positive dispensing pressure within the bottle. The beam spring will allow air to enter the bottle upon the application of negative pressure within the bottle. An automated mechanism is provided for cutting and grasping (e.g., utilizing a vacuum mandrel) a beam spring comprising a predetermined length of a band of flexible material. The vacuum mandrel is then inserted into the bottle adjacent the substantially cylindrical internal portion such that upon release of the vacuum the beam spring expands against the substantially cylindrical internal surface of the bottle such that central portion of the beam spring is adjacent the aperture. A method and apparatus for inserting the flexible bag into the outer bottle of the squeeze pump package is also provided.
