Abstract: A transfer case for use with four-wheel drive vehicles incorporates a pass-through power takeoff shaft to drive remote secondary implements or accessory devices. The power takeoff shaft delivers rotational power from the vehicle transmission to the remote implement or accessory by passing through the housing of the transfer case to improve ground clearance and minimize driveline angles. The housing for the transfer case can mount bearings that rotatably support the power takeoff shaft. Alternatively, a tubular member can be mounted in the transfer case to provide a passageway through which the power takeoff shaft can pass through the transfer case. The points of engagement of the power takeoff shaft and the transfer case housing are sealed to prevent the loss of lubricating fluid from the transfer case. In each embodiment, the power takeoff shaft passes through the transfer case without engagement of or interference with the drive components therein.

Abstract: A work vehicle includes two types of PTO shafts, a PTO drive unit, a storage unit, a PTO gear shift operation unit, a PTO shaft detection sensor, a PTO gear shift sensor and a control device. The storage unit stores a PTO shaft, which is not connected to the driven portion, of the two types of PTO shafts. The PTO gear shift operation unit performs gear-shifting of the gear shift mechanism. The PTO shaft detection sensor detects a type of the PTO shaft stored in the storage unit. The PTO gear shift sensor detects an operation state of the PTO gear shift operation unit. The control device decides a propriety of a combination of a detection value of the PTO shaft detection sensor and a detection value of the PTO gear shift sensor.

Abstract: A transmission includes an input shaft coupled to a prime mover, a countershaft, main shaft, and an output shaft, with gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. A shift actuator selectively couples the input shaft to the main shaft by rotatably coupling gears between the countershaft and the main shaft. The shift actuator is mounted on an exterior wall of a housing including the countershaft and the main shaft. An integrated actuator housing is operationally coupled to the shift actuator and a linear clutch actuator. The linear clutch actuator is a self-adjusting actuator, and the transmission includes a self-adjusting clutch.

Abstract: A power take-off (PTO) transmission unit transfers power between an input shaft and an output shaft. A gear set selectively couples the input shaft to the output shaft. A shift device includes a shift rail with ends forming inner pistons within chambers. The shift rail is configured to translate between first, second, and third positions based on the pressures of the chambers. Inner pistons nest within the outer pistons in the chambers. A shift fork and shift collar translate with the shift rail to, in the first position, engage the gear set such that power is transferred at a first speed ratio; in the second position, engage the gear set such that power is transferred at a second speed ratio; and in the third position, engage the gear set to provide a neutral mode in which the output shaft is free to rotate relative to the input shaft.

Abstract: A power take-off (PTO) arrangement is provided for transferring power between a work vehicle and an implement. The PTO arrangement includes a PTO shaft having a PTO flange; and a PTO transmission unit having an input shaft coupled to the work vehicle, an output shaft coupled to the PTO shaft, and a gear set coupling the input shaft to the output shaft such that the power is transferred at a speed ratio selected from at least two speed ratios. A PTO speed control system has a sensor arrangement proximate to the PTO shaft and configured to sense data associated with the PTO flange and generate a PTO flange output signal based on the PTO flange data and a control unit and configured to selectively enable and disable operation of the PTO arrangement based on the PTO flange output signal and the selected speed ratio.

Abstract: A power distribution assembly integrated into the lower engine housing of an internal combustion engine, the assembly having a drive train with a T-box output configuration and power take off driven by the crankshaft of the engine. The drive train may power the input shafts of a pair of independent, variable drive transmissions. In one embodiment, a single actuator engages a manual clutch/brake mechanism that controls the output shaft of the power take off. In other embodiments, an electric clutch affords control of the power take off mechanism. In further embodiments, a hydraulic clutch/brake assembly allows control of the power take off, and an additional hydraulic clutch assembly may be used to control the outputs of the T-box.
