    摘要： A method of hot-stretching a cable and an apparatus for practicing the same in which first, second and third capstans of different diameters, having a common rotating shaft, and having grooves on the circumferential surfaces thereof for winding the cable a plurality of turns are provided in parallel between a stranding machine and a winding machine but on the side of the stranding machine. First and second guide pulleys are provided in parallel on the side of the winding machine, and the cable is wound around said winding machine through the first capstan, the first guide pulley, the second capstan, the second guide pulley and the third capstan. A front heat treatment equipment for heating the cable is provided between the first and second capstans, and a rear heat treatment equipment for heating the cable is provided between the second and third capstans. The stranding machine is operated in such a manner that the operating speed of the stranding machine is increased to a predetermined low speed after start, and after the predetermined low speed is maintained for a predetermined period of time, the operating speed is gradually increased to the rated operating speed. The front heat treatment equipment and the rear heat treatment equipment is selectively operated as required, while a part of the cable lying between the first and second capstans and a part of the cable lying between the second and third capstans is selectively subjected to a predetermined tension, so that the whole length of the cable stranded until the operating speed of the stranding machine reaches the rated operating speed after starting is continuously and effectively subjected to a hot-stretching treatment.

    摘要： The device is used in a rope machine and comprises two drive pulleys of different diameters of which the smaller-diameter pulley serves for drawing out the twisted product immediately after its having been spun, while the larger-diameter pulley is for stretching the product. Spaced somewhat apart from the pulleys is a contrivance for passing the twisted product from one pulley to the other. The pulleys are interconnected through a friction clutch which is kinematically associated with a selfcontained drive controlled by the stretching force transducer adapted to interact with the member of the contrivance which is under maximum load imposed by the tightening force of the twisted product, the transducer producing a signal proportional to the force so as to enable the torque transmitted by the friction clutch from one pulley to the other, to be changed in the course of stretching process. Such an embodiment of the device enables automatic control of the stretching force applied to the twisted product under process.

PRIOR TO REACHING THE HEATING ZONE, WHERE A SUITABLE HEATING MEANS IS LOCATED, THE ROPE IS DIRECTED THROUGH AN UNDULATORY PATH BY AN ADJUSTABLE ROLLER MEANS CAUSING THE ROPE TO BE SEQUENTIALLY DIRECTED ALONG OPPOSED CURVES, SO THAT IN THIS WAY PRIOR TO REACHING THE HEATING MEANS THE ROPE IS STRESSED AND PRELIMINARILY HEATED TO A GIVEN DEGREE. THE TENSION IS APPLIED TO THE ROPE BY WINDING THE LATTER ONTO A DRUM WHICH PULLS THE ROPE THROUGH THE UNDULATORY PATH AND THE HEATING MEANS, AND BETWEEN THE HEATING MEANS AND THE TAKE-UP DRUM THE ROPE IS COOLED EITHER BY THE AMBIENT ATMOSPHERE OR THROUGH FORCED COOLING.
