    摘要： An extra-long deadlocking door latch or longlatch is arranged to fit and operate within the normal latch bolt openings provided in a standard pre-cut residential or commercial door, in the presence of two transverse bolts which pass through the transverse hole in the door to hold inside the outside door knob assemblies securely against the door so that an intruder cannot pry off the outside assembly and thus gain entry. The longlatch is arranged to protrude at least one inch out from the door and into a latch holder in a door frame. Two springs are located above the transverse bolts and extend into the door beyond both transverse bolts. The two springs, or just one of the springs, can move the longlatch one inch or more from the fully withdrawn position to the fully extended position. The longlatch is brought to the fully extended position in precisely the same way as is done with a conventional deadlocking latch, i.e., the inside door knob assembly is set to its locked position and the door is simply pulled closed from the outside, resulting in a deadlocked state with the longlatch extending at least one inch from the door, and into the latch holder. The longlatch is mounted in a cylinder which extends not only through the normal hole from the edge of the door, but also most of the way through the larger transverse hole provided in a pre-cut door, which is aligned with the usual position of the door knob.

    摘要： A lock mechanism includes a casing structure adapted to be mounted to one of a door and a door frame for cooperation with an apertured strike plate mounted to the other of the door and door frame. The lock mechanism further comprises a front plate for the casing structure with a pair of apertures therein and a latch bolt retractably mounted with respect to the casing structure and biased to an extended first position wherein a latching portion thereof extends from one of the front plate apertures for engagement with the strike plate aperture, and movable to a secnd retracted position. The latching portion of the latch bolt has a beveled leading surface located for engagement with the strike plate only when the latch bolt is moved a predetermined amount toward the retracted position. Retracting structure is operatively coupled with the latch bolt for effecting the predetermined amount of movement of the latch bolt toward said retracted position for effecting the desired positioning of the beveled leading surface thereof.

A key release cylinder (30) is mounted within the cover (24) allowing manual actuation from the exterior. A spring loaded latchbolt (34) penetrates through the faceplate (22) and is equipped with a roller (36) for alignment. The latchbolt (34) provides the dead bolt for the lock. A door latch assembly (56) having a follower (70) inside a barrel (60) restrained by a plurality of balls (74) provides the latch. Both the latchbolt (34) and door latch (56) are retracted simultaneously by either the rotation of a key within the cylinder (30) or electrical power to the solenoid (32). A connecting linkage within attaches the elements together and a pushbutton switch (92) provides indication of the lock' s position through internal electrical contacts.

    摘要： A lockset for a door has a strike on the door frame and a latch bolt on the door panel. The latch bolt is reciprocable and is projected by a spring and preferably has a deadlatch operation. The latch bolt is retractable by rotation of an inner knob or of an outer knob. The outer knob is locked by a key lock controlling an axially movable plate engaged with the outer knob and interengageable with an outer escutcheon adjacent the outer knob. The key lock can move the plate out of engagement with the outer escutcheon and into engagement with the inner knob. A turn button in the inner knob can also move the axially movable plate.

    摘要： A deadlocking latch bolt in a tubular housing is connected to a tailpiece front cross head having a retainer arm in a radial window in the bolt and a blocker arm abutting the opposite housing side to maintain the connection. A deadlocking tumbler is biased to bolt deadlocking position. An auxiliary bolt, when projected, holds the tumbler in release position, and when retracted relative to the bolt, allows the tumbler to take deadlocking position. A channel-shaped tailpiece cam member engaged for linear movement with the cross head has a cam face presented to move the tumbler to release position when the deadlocked bolt is drawn rearward by the tailpiece. The bolt is movable relative to the tailpiece when thrust rearward so as to be deadlocked against the tumbler before actuating the tailpiece and its cam member, but has no lost motion when pulled rearward by the tailpiece. A rear guide block in the housing forms a guideway with a side entrance for admitting a narrow tailpiece portion thereto, and is self-sustained on the tailpiece when moved rearward against a tailpiece stop. Bolt springs and the tumbler are assembled between the guide block and the bolts on the tailpiece to form a self-sustained subassembly slidably insertable in the housing.

    摘要： A latch bolt mechanism for use with a cylindrical lock set has a main latch bolt and an auxiliary bolt to control deadlocking of the main bolt, all mounted in a tubular housing. The main bolt has a tubular stem telescopically received over a tailpiece in the form of a round rod with a retraction head at the rear. The tailpiece is slidable in the stem through lost motion which is limited by engagement between a stop ring on the stem and a timing groove in the tailpiece, and the tailpiece is biased to forward position by a spring acting between a cap at the front end of the tailpiece and a reaction washer pressed into the bolt stem. A deadlocking dog is pivoted on a rear support with its forward end positioned to block rearward movement of the bolt stem. The tailpiece also has a cam groove to receive the dogging end of the dog, and the cam of such groove releases the deadlocking dog when the tailpiece is first retracted through its limited lost motion in the stem and thereafter retracts the latch bolt. The bolts are urged forward by springs which seat on a foot lever fulcrumed against the end closure of the tubular housing and engaged at its end with a lug on the deadlocking dog to bias that dog toward its deadlocking position. The auxiliary bolt carries a dog release finger which normally holds the deadlocking dog in release position, but which, when the auxiliary bolt is retracted relative to the bolt, lets the locking dog move to bolt-blocking position. The tailpiece spring is weaker than the bolt spring so that when the bolt is deadlocked retraction of the tailpiece first moves it through its lost motion to where its cam will release the locking dog, and then moves it to retract the latch bolt.
