    摘要: A bearing assembly includes a housing, a spherical bearing located within the housing, and two outer races positioned between the spherical bearing and the housing. The outer races are configured in sliding engagement with the spherical bearing to allow the spherical bearing to rotate relative to the housing. The assembly also includes a tightening element configured to engage a first of the two outer races and tighten the outer races against the spherical bearing. The assembly is configured to provide a primary load path from the tightening element to the housing, wherein the primary load path leads from the tightening element to the housing via the outer races whilst bypassing the spherical bearing.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for assembling a split sleeve onto a shaft. The split sleeve apparatus provides a first and second arcuate portion with each having a partial cylindrical configuration. The first and second arcuate portions have at least one finger extending circumferentially outward from their opposing ends. The at least one finger from each of the first and second arcuate portions complementarily engage one another to form a continuous cylinder. At least one aperture extends longitudinally through the at least one finger of the first and second arcuate portions. A dowel rod extends through the at least one aperture for connecting the first and second arcuate portions to form the cylinder. The first and second arcuate portions are fabricated from a material having heat expansion characteristics that allow the material to expand when heated during assembly and to contract when cooled creating an interference fit with the shaft.

    摘要: An insertion system for inserting a bushing assembly defining first and second end configurations into a housing opening defined by a structural member comprises a brace assembly, an actuator assembly, and a drive plate. The brace assembly comprises a brace rod, an anchor member defining an anchor edge surface and a spacing portion, and a brace nut. The actuator assembly comprises an actuator housing and a drive member. Displacement of the drive member causes displacement of the bushing assembly through the drive plate such that the anchor edge surface acts on the structural member and the drive plate displaces the bushing assembly into the housing opening towards the anchor member. The spacing portion of the anchor member is configured to engage the second end configuration of the bushing assembly to prevent further displacement of the bushing assembly when the bushing assembly is in a desired position.
