    摘要: A damper for a bicycle having a primary unit and a remote unit that, in some arrangements, is substantially entirely outside of the primary unit. The primary unit includes a damper tube, a spring chamber, and a piston rod that supports a main piston. The main piston is movable within the damper chamber of the primary unit. The main piston and the damper tube at least partially define a compression chamber. The remote unit comprises a remote fluid chamber and, in some arrangements, an inertial valve within the remote unit. The inertial valve is preferably responsive to terrain-induced forces and preferably not responsive to rider-induced forces when the shock absorber is assembled to the bicycle.

A system for isolating vibrations between bodies includes a vibration isolator including fluid, a fluid regulator valve in fluid communication with the vibration isolator to selectively flow fluid through the vibration isolator, a pressurized fluid source in fluid communication with the fluid regulator to supply fluid to the fluid regulator, a controller in signal communication with the fluid regulator to control fluid flow between the fluid regulation valve and the vibration isolator, and at least one sensor in signal communication with the controller.

    摘要: A rotary damper for remote-controlled vehicles is described. The rotary damper includes a housing containing a fluid, a rotary joint, a rotating member, a protrusion extending from the first end of the rotating member dividing a space within the housing into at least two portions, and a rocker arm. In operation, a linear motion applied to the rocker arm translates into rotary motion on the rotating member, causing the protrusion to move through the fluid within the housing. An elastic member may be coaxially mounted on the rotating member to resist the rotary motion translated from the rocker arm. The elastic member generates a spring force, and the protrusion moving through the liquid generates a damping force. In other examples, the damping force is generated using a fluid-shearing object moving through the liquid, such as a slotted disc or an impeller.

The device comprises first and second terminals for connection, in use, to components in a system for controlling mechanical forces and independently moveable. Hydraulic means are connected between the terminals and contain a liquid, the hydraulic means configured, in 4 use, to produce upon relative movement of the terminals, a liquid flow along at least two flow paths. The liquid flow along a first flow path generates a damping force proportional to the velocity of the liquid flow along the first flow path, and the liquid flow along a second flow path generates an inertial force due to the mass of the liquid, the force being substantially proportional to the acceleration of the liquid flow along the second flow path, such that the damping force is equal to the inertial force and controls the mechanical forces at the terminals.

The remote unit comprises a remote fluid chamber and, in some arrangements, an inertia valve within the remote unit. The inertia valve, which is configured to slidably move within the remote reservoir unit relative to a reservoir shaft, comprises a main portion and at least one protective coating or layer configured to contact the reservoir shaft. The protective coating or layer helps shield said main portion from contact with reservoir shaft, advantageously providing wear resistance, anti-friction properties, durability and other benefits to the damping system.
