Abstract: Described herein is a MEMS acoustic transducer device provided with a micromechanical detection structure that detects acoustic-pressure waves and supplies a transduced electrical quantity, and with an integrated circuit operatively coupled to the micromechanical detection structure and having a reading module that generates at output an audio signal as a function of the transduced electrical quantity. The integrated circuit is further provided with a recognition module, which recognizes a of sound activity event associated to the transduced electrical quantity. The MEMS acoustic transducer has an output that supplies at output a data signal that carries information regarding recognition of the sound activity event.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for contactless cough detection and attribution are presented herein. Audio data may be received using a microphone. A cough may be identified as having occurred based on the received audio data. Radar data may be received indicative of reflected radio waves from a radar sensor. A state analysis process may be performed using the received radar data. The detected cough may be attributed to a particular user based at least in part on the state analysis process performed using the radar data.

Abstract: A microelectromechanical system (MEMS) microphone includes a cavity to receive an acoustic signal. The acoustic signal causes movement of a diaphragm relative to one or more other surfaces, which in turn results in an electrical signal representative of the received acoustic signal. A light sensor is included within the packaging of the MEMS microphone such that an output of the light sensor is representative of a light signal received with the acoustic signal. The output of the light sensor is used to modify the electrical signal representative of the received acoustic signal in a manner that limits light interference with an acoustical output signal.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to using a display as a sound emitter and may relate to an electronic device including a display. In particular a vibration sensor such as an accelerometer is physically coupled to the display and senses display vibration to provide a high accuracy feedback loop with respect to representing actual audio output from the display. The electronic device includes an actuator physically coupled to the display and configured to cause vibration of the display in response to an audio signal. The electronic device further includes a vibration sensor physically coupled to the display and configured to output a vibration sensor signal proportional to the vibration of the display due to the actuator. The electronic device further includes a processor operably coupled to the vibration sensor. The processor is configured to adjust the audio signal based on the vibration sensor signal from the vibration sensor.
