摘要： A method for reducing transference of structure-borne vibration to the chassis of a rotating system reduces the level of offensive acoustics resulting from vibration of the chassis. The method includes connecting a motor to the chassis with a mount that is connected to the motor at a height equal to that of a point of pivot of the motor, a shaft, and a rotary body collectively. In a preferred embodiment, the point of pivot is calculated using the oscillation period of the motor, shaft, and rotary body, when swinging collectively about the location of intersection between the rotary body and the shaft.

摘要： A turbulator for use with a fluid impelling device comprises a first side, a second side, and an apex toward which the first and second sides taper. The turbulator, circumferentially disposed about an inlet ring located adjacent the impelling device, is coaxially situated with an inlet passage of the inlet ring. The first side, second side, and apex define a triangular cross-section such that as laminar fluid flow from the second side moves over the apex of the turbulator, the laminar fluid flow is transitioned to a turbulent fluid flow on the first side prior to moving into the inlet passage. The turbulator also includes a plurality of evenly spaced slots for disrupting fluid flow symmetry within the inlet passage. The transition to turbulent flow and the disruption of fluid flow symmetry reduce acoustics as fluid is moved through the impelling device.

摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling the speed of a DC electric motor receives a periodic commutation signal having a fixed duration on cycle and an off cycle. The commutation signal then is modified to form a periodic modified commutation signal having substantially the same period duration as the commutation signal. The modified commutation signal has a single on cycle per period. The method and apparatus then determine a desired speed of the motor, and vary the duration of the on cycle of the commutation signal to form the on cycle of the modified commutation signal. The on cycle of the modified commutation signal has a duration that is less than the fixed duration. By varying in this manner, the rotor rotates at substantially the desired speed.
