摘要: An example system includes a grating coupled laser, a laser optical interposer (LOI), an optical isolator, and a light redirector. The grating coupled laser includes a laser cavity and a transmit grating optically coupled to the laser cavity. The transmit grating is configured to diffract light emitted by the laser cavity out of the grating coupled laser. The LOI includes an LOI waveguide with an input end and an output end. The optical isolator is positioned between the surface coupled edge emitting laser and the LOI. The light redirector is positioned to redirect the light, after the light passes through the optical isolator, into the LOI waveguide of the LOI.

摘要: In one example, a laser assembly may include a substrate, a lens array, and a laser array. The lens array may be positioned on a first side of the substrate. The laser array may be positioned on a second side of the substrate opposite the first side. Lasers of the laser array may be oriented to generate optical signals through the substrate to corresponding lenses of the lens array. The lens array may include at least one concave lens and at least one convex lens. The concave and convex lenses may map the irradiance of the lasers to a common target irradiance profile, resulting in an alignment tolerant laser assembly.

摘要: An optoelectronic system includes an optoelectronic module and a heat sink. The optoelectronic module includes a housing and first and second housing slide locks. The first and second housing slide locks extend outward from opposite sides of the housing. The heat sink includes a heat sink bottom, first and second heat sink legs, and first and second heat sink slide locks. The first and second heat sink legs extend downward from opposite ends of the heat sink bottom. The first and second heat sink slide locks extend inward from the first and second heat sink legs. The heat sink bottom is configured to be in thermal contact with a housing top of the housing. Each of the first and second heat sink slide locks is configured to be respectively disposed beneath the first and second housing slide locks when the heat sink is removably secured to the housing.

摘要: A VCSEL may include a bottom DBR mirror and a top DBR mirror above the bottom DBR mirror. The VCSEL may include a vertical optical cavity located within a portion of the bottom and top DBR mirrors. The vertical optical cavity may be configured to emit an optical signal. The VCSEL may include a lateral feedback optical cavity located within a different portion of the bottom and the top DBR mirrors configured to receive a feedback bias signal configured to bias the lateral feedback optical cavity to adjust the optical signal. The VCSEL may include an active region formed between the bottom and the top DBR mirrors that may include an oxide layer defining an oxide aperture. The VCSEL may include an isolation implant configured to electrically isolate the vertical optical cavity from the feedback optical cavity and to create a first and a second aperture within the oxide aperture.

摘要: A ferrule-to-lens latch mechanism includes a cover movable with respect to a housing of an optical assembly between an open position in which a cavity defined by the housing is visible and a closed position in which the cavity is covered by the cover. A lens is positioned in the cavity and has one or more guide pins which are visible when the cover is in the open position prior to mating a ferrule to the lens. A spring clip coupled to the housing and positioned in the cavity is configured to allow insertion and removal of the ferrule from the cavity when the cover is in the open position and may bias the ferrule against the lens when the ferrule is mated to the lens. When the ferrule is mated to the lens, the cover may cooperate with the spring clip to inhibit removal of the ferrule.
