    摘要: A method and apparatus for removing hydrogen sulfide from crude coke oven gas comprises initially scrubbing the crude coke oven gas in a low pressure scrubber using an aqueous regeneratable liquor. The gas is subsequently scrubbed in a high pressure scrubber using the same liquor. Streams of spent washing liquor are united and supplied to a regenerating unit where the hydrogen sulfide is removed in the form of sulfur or sulfuric acid. After the regenerating unit the liquor is returned to the high and low pressure scrubbers.

    摘要: A coke oven door comprises a flat sealing diaphragm which is secured between and spaced apart from the door body and the door plug and is provided on its periphery with sealing knife edges which project against the door frame. The sealing edges are pressed against the door frame by bias adjustable springs, through spring loaded plungers. The door plug is formed by a plurality of individual plug elements closely adjacent to each other and supported by associated plug holders, and the sealing diaphragm is firmly screwed in place between the door body and the plug holders only in the upper and lower zones or areas of the door. In the intermediate zone, the diaphragm is connected to a back-up plate and to the plug holders and held adjustably spaced apart from the door body.

    摘要: A method for the dry cooling of coke comprises transferring the coke from the coke oven to a special bucket which is moved over a charging hole of a cooling pit. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is closed off and sealed against the atmosphere and a shutter which closes the top of the charging hole is moved upwardly and then transversely off the charging hole to open it as an intermediate charging guide piece is moved in position between the hole and the bucket for the transfer of the coke therebetween. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is sealed by a frame of a sluicing device in which the shutter and the intermediate charging hole guidepiece is movable. The device advantageously runs on wheels which are located outside the frame which seals the space between the charging bucket and the charging pit. The frame of the sluicing device advantageously includes a sealing element which engages into a recess seal combined around the charging hole.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for indirectly drying and preheating fine material, in particular, moisture containing coal or the like, comprises, providing a rotary drum which is mounted for rotation and has a plurality of heating tubes extending therethrough, supplying heated cooling gas from a dry coke cooling system to the heating tubes, supplying the moist material to the drum, adjacent the bottom thereof, removing the material from the drum after it has been predried and preheated, and returning or recycling a portion of the predried and preheated material to the rotary drum. The method and apparatus utilizes the heated cooling gas used to cool dry coke in a dry coke cooling plant from high temperatures to below 200.degree. C. It has been found that such heated cooling gas for a selected amount of dry coke is useful either in a series of more than one rotary drum or, to process moist material in a single drum and also generate steam as a byproduct.

    摘要: A three-cycle process as disclosed for drying and preheating coking coal using the heat from cooled coke. Cooling gas is passed over hot coke to heat the cooling gas and cool the coke. The heated cooling gas is then passed through a waste heat boiler and then back to the hot coke in a coke cooling chamber. This completes the first closed cycle. Water is supplied to the waste heat boiler to form steam. The steam is supplied to a fluidized bed of wet coal to indirectly preheat and dry the wet coal in a second cycle. The wet coal is fluidized using fluidizing gas which converts water in the wet coal into steam. Some of the steam is condensed from the combination of fluidizing gas plus steam and then the fluidizing gas is returned to the bed. Steam from the waste heat boiler is also supplied to the fluidizing gas before it re-enters the bed to heat the fluidizing gas.

    摘要: Abrasion-proof coke forms are produced from bituminous coal, brown coal, or peat in the form of briquets, by preheating the briquets, dehydrating or predrying them, carbonizing them and then cooling them in at least three separate stages in which the briquets are dehydrated indirectly by subjecting them to indirect temperature conditions, producing a temperature gradient in the briquets. The briquets are automatically fed into a shaft tower which includes an upper drying shaft portion made up of a plurality of stacked radiators which include tube elements for the passing of a heating fluid, such as steam, therethrough and which define vertical shaft passages through which the briquet forms are passed downwardly and into a carbonizing shaft which has separate gas channels for directing heating gases therethrough and to a heating flue and which subsequently includes a lower cooling zone through which the briquets pass and then into a discharge channel where they are delivered for classification.

    摘要: A method of producing process gases containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide from ash oil comprises directing oil rich in ash and oxygen enriched gas into a burner which is fired downwardly into a pressure reactor so as to gasify the oil under pressure and under pressure of steam into gases which are partly burned and a remainder of gases. The remaining gases are separated from unburned carbon and ash and are quenched to convert them into steam by a wash water which entrains fine particles of carbon. The remaining heat content of the quench gases are used in another process. Wash water is directed into a decanter thickener in order to separate the wash water and entrain particles into clear water, carbon containing water and ash mud. The carbon containing water is used to produce steam for controlling the conversion of ash oil.

An apparatus for carrying out the method includes means for spraying either the tar or the tar plus water into the collecting main containing the degasification gases and passing the gases and the liquids from the main into a cooler to separate the gases and a liquid condensate and the tar oil from the condensate and which includes means for directing the crude tar through a separator for separating the heavy tar from a remaining portion of the tar and further directing the remaining portion through a supply tank and a centrifuge for removing solid matter therefrom.
