    摘要: The present invention provides a de-header valve with a flushing system for flushing undesirable material from the upper and lower bonnets while the de-header valve is opened. The flushing system can include three valves. A first valve controls the flow of steam to the de-header valve. A second valve controls the flow of water for flushing the bonnets. A third valve controls how the bonnets are drained. The third valve can be a three way valve that allows the bonnets to be drained to a pit during flushing, and also allows steam condensate to drain into a steam trap.

    摘要: A method for the dry cooling of coke comprises transferring the coke from the coke oven to a special bucket which is moved over a charging hole of a cooling pit. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is closed off and sealed against the atmosphere and a shutter which closes the top of the charging hole is moved upwardly and then transversely off the charging hole to open it as an intermediate charging guide piece is moved in position between the hole and the bucket for the transfer of the coke therebetween. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is sealed by a frame of a sluicing device in which the shutter and the intermediate charging hole guidepiece is movable. The device advantageously runs on wheels which are located outside the frame which seals the space between the charging bucket and the charging pit. The frame of the sluicing device advantageously includes a sealing element which engages into a recess seal combined around the charging hole.

A lift assembly is attached to the frame for engaging the thrust collar to selectively raise and lower the bridge relative to the flange, and a rotational assembly is operatively connected to the central shaft for rotating the bridge to selectively align the first vessel cover or the second vessel cover above the flange during the delayed coking process.

    摘要: A drivable member has an opening therethrough and is positioned within a charging port of a chamber. The drivable member has suspended therefrom an inner cover. The drivable member is axially movable with respect to the charging port between a raised position, whereat the inner cover is moved into a sealing position against an inner surface of the charging port, and a lowered position, whereat the inner cover is moved away from the inner surface. An intermediate seal is formed between the exterior of the charging port and an exterior portion of the drivable member, and the intermediate seal is maintained during all positions of movement of the drivable member. An outer cover is selectively movable into sealing engagement with an upper portion of the drivable member to form an outer seal. The outer cover may be removed and replaced by a material supply container which also forms an outer seal with the upper portion of the drivable member. Thereafter, the drivable member may be moved to the lowered position thereof to open the inner seal, and material be charged from the container through the opening and the charging port into the interior of the chamber.

    摘要: Apparatus for the smokeless pushing and transportation of hot coke. A bucket whose interior volume is large enough to receive the entire contents of a coke oven is positioned in alignment with a coke oven whcih is to be emptied while a cover on top of the bucket, a hood extending from the cover to a coke guide, and the coke guide itself all define a space closed off from the outer atmosphere and through which the coke travels while being pushed from the coke oven into the bucket. After the bucket is filled with this coke, it is transported on a car which carries the bucket to a bunker where the bucket is raised to the top of the bunker into which the ocntents of the bucket are emptied so that dry-quenching of the coke can take place in the bunker. The space between the bucket and the bunker is also closed off from the outer atmosphere during charging of the bunker with coke from the bucket. Then the empty bucket is returned to the next oven which is ready for pushing. During pushing of coke from an oven into the bucket, gases, vapors, and particulate matter which might otherwise escape to the outer atmosphere are withdrawn from the space through which the coke travels from the oven to the buckets, and this withdrawn matter is cleaned in a suitable scrubber so that only clean gases are released to the outer atmosphere.
