Abstract: A tensioning system for a shade structure is presented. The tensioning system comprises a shade membrane coupling portion configured to couple to a shade membrane of the shade structure. The tensioning system also comprises a movement axis, along which the shade membrane coupling portion moves. In a first direction, the shade membrane coupling portion applies tension to the shade membrane and, in a second direction, releases tension applied to the shade membrane. The tensioning system also comprises a force translation mechanism configured to receive a rotational force and translate it into linear movement of the shade membrane coupling portion along the movement axis in the first and second direction.

Abstract: A tension-release mechanism configured to facilitate a coupling between a shade membrane and a support structure is provided. The tension-release mechanism comprises a coupling sleeve configured to be installed within the support structure. The tension-release mechanism also comprises a tension actuation element configured to extend along a connection path within the coupling sleeve. The tension actuation element is configured to engage a receiving feature within a moveable sleeve coupled to the shade membrane. Actuating the tension actuation element in a first direction causes the moveable sleeve to be received within the coupling sleeve. Actuation in a second direction causes the moveable sleeve to be decoupled from the coupling sleeve.

Abstract: A metallophone structure configured for permanent installation in an outdoor environment is provided. The metallophone structure comprises a mounting structure. The metallophone structure also comprises a set of tone producing devices each coupled to the mounting structure by a fastener, wherein each tone producing device is configured to, when actuated, produce a sound frequency. The tone producing device is coupled in a location, by the fastener, as to reduce the effect on the quality of sound produced. The metallophone structure is configured to be weather resistant such that each tone producing device still produces the sound frequency after an outdoor exposure period.

Abstract: Pebble or granular based elastomeric surfacing materials that include an aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane based pebble or granule bonded together with a two-part aliphatic polyurethane binder are provided. In one embodiment, an A side of the two-part binder has at least one polyol, and a B side of the two-part binder has multiple isocyanates. The multiple isocyanates can include for example hydrogenated methylene diphenyldisocyanate and hexamethylene diisocyanate. The A side and the B side of the binder are utilized to bond the pebbles together to form a surface that can be either porous or non-porous. In another embodiment, an A side of a two-part binder includes multiple polyols. The multiple polyols can include for example esterified ricinoleic acid polyols and caprolactone polyols. The A side of the two-part binder can be combined with a B side of the two-part binder and pebbles to form a non-porous surface. In yet another embodiment, a pebble-based surface is utilized as a wear layer in a multi-layer safety surface.
