摘要: Polyester polyols are generally disclosed, including methods of making and using them. In some embodiments, the polyester polyols are incorporated into a block copolymer, such as a polyurethane block copolymer. In some embodiments, the polyurethane block copolymers can be used as compatibilizing agents, which can be used, for example, in polymer blends, polymer alloys, solutions, emulsions, as well as in extruded and injection molded articles. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the polyurethane block copolymer is derived from a renewable source.

摘要: The present invention relates to a thermoplastic polyurethane obtainable or obtained by the conversion of at least a polyisocyanate composition, ethane-1,2-diol as chain extender and a polyol composition, wherein no further chain extender is used aside from ethane-1,2-diol, to a process for preparing such a thermoplastic polyurethane, and to the use of such a polyurethane for production of injection molded products, extrusion products, films and shaped bodies.

摘要: The present invention relates to polyester polyols made from aromatic polyacid sources such as thermoplastic polyesters. The polyols can be made by heating a thermoplastic polyester such as virgin polyethylene terephthalate, recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or mixtures thereof, with a glycol to give a digested intermediate which is then reacted with a digestible polymer, which can be obtained from various recycle waste streams. The polyester polyols comprise a glycol-digested polyacid source and a further digestible polymer. The polyester polyols provide a sustainable alternative to petrochemical or biochemical based polyester polyols.

摘要: The invention provides a bioabsorbable blend of (i) a polymer component comprising polylactic acid (PLA), polyglycolic acid (PGA), a copolymer of PLA and PGA, or any combination thereof and (ii) thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) tailored to a medical application, and a process for making the same. In some embodiments, the TPU comprises units derived from a diol chain extender, a diisocyanate, and a polyol formulated to provide a set biodegradation rate in combination with at least one physical property. The blend of the invention provides useful materials for medical applications that have the individual benefits of polylactic acid and TPU while moderating each material's typical limitations.

摘要: The present invention relates to a polyester polyol, suitable for use in the manufacture of a polyurethane, suitable for use in the manufacture of a polyurethane, the polyester polyol having an ABA-structure, in which A represents a lactide-oligomer and in which B represents an initiator. The initiator includes a reaction product having long chain dicarboxylic acid components having 18 or more carbon atoms. The invention also relates to a method for the manufacture of the polyester polyol. The invention further pertains to polyurethanes including the before-mentioned polyester polyol as well as the use of these polyurethanes as an elastomer having a high toughness. The toughness is believed to originate from the combination of the hydrophobic character of the initiator and the hydrophilic character of the lactide parts in the polyol structure. The strength of the invented polylactide-polyurethane elastomers can be further improved by incorporating a carbodiimide in the elastomer material.

摘要: The present invention aims to provide a polyester polyol having favorable reactivity and a favorable color tone, which can be used for obtaining a polyurethane having an excellent balance of flexibility, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance, and a method for producing the polyester polyol. The object can be achieved with a polyester polyol in which an aliphatic diol contains as a structural unit 1,10-decanediol derived from a biomass resource, and in which the aldehyde body content in the polyester polyol is 0.01 to 0.5% by weight, and a method for producing the polyester polyol.
