    摘要: A closure latch assembly and method for cinching a closure panel from a partially closed position to a fully closed position without pinching an object between the closure panel and a structural portion of a motor vehicle are provided. The latch assembly has a latch cinch mechanism including a cinch lever operably moveable from a cinch start position to a cinch stop position to cause a cinch link to move a ratchet from a secondary striker capture position to a primary striker capture position. A power-operated cinch actuator receives a first signal to move the cinch lever from the cinch start position to the cinch stop position and receives a second signal, in response to an object detected between the closure panel and the structural portion, to stop moving the cinch lever from the cinch start position toward the cinch stop position.

    摘要: A latch assembly a method resists inadvertent movement from a latched state to an unlatched state in a crash condition. Latch assembly includes a strength plate unit, with a ratchet supported by the strength plate unit for pivotal movement within a ratchet pivot plane between a striker release position and a striker capture position. A pawl is supported by the strength plate unit for pivotal movement within a pawl pivot plane between a ratchet holding position, whereat the pawl holds the ratchet in the striker capture position, and a ratchet releasing position, whereat the pawl permits pivotal movement of the ratchet within the ratchet pivot plane to the striker release position. The strength plate unit prevents movement of at least one of the ratchet out of the ratchet pivot plane and the pawl out of the pawl pivot plane while the pawl is in the ratchet holding position.

The latch assembly includes a latch housing for attachment to the closure panel and contains an actuation group to latch and unlatch the closure panel. An electronic control circuit that has a latch controller is disposed within the latch housing and is coupled to the at least one actuation group. The electronic control circuit includes a motor voltage and current sensing circuit for sensing a motor current and a motor voltage of a remote electric motor disposed remotely from the latch housing. The latch controller monitors and controls the actuation group and determine at least one of a motor rotational position and a motor speed of the remote electric motor based on at least one of the motor current signal and the motor voltage signal and controls the remote electric motor accordingly.

    摘要: A system for opening or closing a closure member of a vehicle and an accelerometer calibration method are provided. The system includes an actuator assembly with an electric motor operably coupled to an extensible member for opening or closing the closure member. The system also includes an accelerometer configured to sense movement of the closure member and output an accelerometer signal. An actuator controller is coupled to electric motor and to the accelerometer and is configured to determine an adjusted accelerometer signal as the accelerometer signal adjusted using one of a plurality of predetermined compensation factors determined through an accelerometer calibration process temporally before installation of the accelerometer in the vehicle. The actuator controller then controls the opening or closing of the closure member using the electric motor based on the movement of the closure member as represented by the adjusted accelerometer signal.

The controller is adapted to determine a confidence level representative of an intent of the user approaching the motor vehicle to access the motor vehicle based on the at least one approach characteristic of the user. The controller controls the actuator unit based on the confidence level.
