摘要: A method for controlling the movement of magnetic or magnetizable objects (10) in a biosensor cartridge. The method comprises the step of providing a biosensor cartridge with a laterally extending sensor surface (A) and at least a magnetic field generating means (20, 30, 30′) for generating a magnetic field with a field gradient substantially perpendicular to the sensor surface (A). The magnetic field generating means (20, 30, 30′) are alternatingly actuated such that the generated magnetic field directs alternatingly the magnetic or magnetizable objects (10) substantially perpendicular to the sensor surface (A) away and toward the sensor surface, wherein pulse lengths of the alternating actuation are adjusted such that a lateral movement of magnetizable objects along the laterally extending sensor surface is substantially avoided.

摘要: The present invention relates to a cartridge (1) for the detection of an analyte (2) in a binding assay with magnetic labels (3), the cartridge comprising at least one capture binding agent (4) against a binding site on the analyte and comprising at least two magnetically labelled tracer binding agents (51 and 52) against further different binding sites on the analyte, characterized in that the cartridge comprises at least two regions (61 and 62) wherein a first region (61) comprises the at least one capture binding agent (4) and a first magnetically labelled tracer binding agent (51) and wherein a second region (62) comprises at least one capture binding agent (4) and a second magnetically labelled tracer binding agent (52). 摘要: The present invention relates to a method for detection of at least one target molecule in a blood sample comprising at least the following steps: (a) providing a blood sample; (b1) contacting said sample with an antioxidant and applying said sample to a filter to separate the blood cells from said sample; and/or (b2) applying said sample to a filter to separate the blood cells from said sample, wherein said filter comprises an antioxidant; (c) contacting said sample with a first binding molecule in the cartridge, wherein said first binding molecule is attached to a magnetic particle, and wherein said first binding molecule is capable of specifically binding to said at least one target molecule; (d) contacting said sample with a second binding molecule, wherein said second binding molecule is attached to a sensor surface, and wherein said second binding molecule is capable of specifically binding to said at least one target molecule; and (e) detecting the magnetic particles on the sensor surface. The present invention also relates to the use of an antioxidant in the process of detection of at least one target molecule in a blood sample as well as to cartridges for insertion into an assay device for detection of at least one target molecule in a blood sample.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device for the detection of magnetic particles (1) in a sample chamber (112). After introduction of the sample into said sample chamber (112), the magnetic particles (1) are first retained within the sample chamber (112) and kept away from the sensing surface (111) by an appropriate magnetic field (B) to allow for an incubation of the sample with reagents. A reference measurement may be made during this incubation period (TI), preferably at the end thereof. After incubation, the magnetic particles (1) are allowed to contact the sensing surface (111) where a target measurement can be conducted.

摘要: Methods for preventing aggregation of detection particles in a test for detecting a multi-epitope target analyte comprising two or more similar or identical epitopes in a sample and/or for determining the concentration of the multi-epitope target analyte in a sample by applying a first capture entity which can specifically bind to at least one epitope on the multi-epitope analyte and block the at least one epitope from binding to a detection particle. The detection of the multi-epitope target analyte may further include the use of a second capture entity, which can specifically bind to the same or a similar epitope of the multi-epitope target analyte as the first capture entity. The multi-epitope target may be detected through the use of a system comprising a sensor surface and the use of a first capture entity to block the at least one epitope from binding to a detection particle.

摘要: The invention relates to a filter unit (600), a method for manufacturing such a filter unit, and a cartridge (690) comprising such a filter unit. The filter unit (600) is characterized in that it comprises a filter material (601) which is integrated into the aperture of at least one foil (602, 603, 604). In a preferred embodiment, the filter material (601) may be located in the aperture of an intermediate foil (604) which is embedded between a top foil (602) and a bottom foil (603). Such a filter unit (600) can readily be produced in cost-effective processes like roll-to-roll manufacturing technologies.

摘要: A device such as a disposable cartridge has an RFID tag (30) having an antenna (10), and a fluidic element (20, 160), the antenna having a shape to at least partly enclose an area, at least a part of the fluidic element being located in this area. By having such a structure, the device can be made more compact or the antenna can be made larger, and hence the costs for a given performance can be reduced, or the storage space for a given number of devices can be reduced.
