摘要： A shutter mechanism is provided for a motor control center of the type having a backwall with a stab opening for receiving a stab connector for making electrical contact with bus bars which are behind the panel. The shutter consists of two pieces, a stationary member which has a central opening and a vertical slit opening into the central opening and a movable member which has a guide thereon and is positioned between the motor control center and the stationary member with the guide extending through the slit and vertically movable therein. The stationary member is fastened to the motor control center with the central opening overlaying the stab opening. The movable member moves from a closed position to an open position and then from the open position to the closed position under the force of gravity alone without the use of springs.

摘要： A multipole molded case circuit breaker has a single handle assembly contained in a first pole along with a movable contact arm assembly. A second pole has a movable contact arm assembly connected to the first contact arm assembly by a crossbar member so that the arms move in unison during normal operation. Each pole contains a tripping mechanism for tripping the breaker pole. The breaker mechanisms are connected for uniform tripping of all poles.

摘要： An improved gasket sealing motor leads which extend from the interior of an electric motor enclosure. The gasket is provided with one or more resilient, conical bushings whose diameters extend through a wide range of lead diameters. By severing the bushings at an appropriate point, round apertures are formed through which the leads can be pulled and sealed. The flat portion of the gasket which surrounds the bushings is secured to the motor enclosure in a conventional manner.

摘要： A motor control center of the high voltage type which includes a set of three vertically-disposed cubicles. The two lower cubicles house a pair of contactor assemblies, the lowermost contactor assembly being longer than the upper one. The cubicle enclosing the upper contactor is provided with a partition behind which is a compartment containing vertical bus bars. The lowermost cubicle extends beneath this compartment so that the bus bars drop directly down to engage a set of connectors which are also engaged by the lowermost contactor assembly.

摘要： A current-limiting electrical apparatus is provided including a housing with first and second electrical terminals contained therein. A pair of electrical contacts is disposed within the housing and electrically connected in series with the first and second terminals. A biasing means applies a biasing force to the pair of electrical contacts to bias them to a closed position. The pair of electrical contacts is configured to cause the contacts to electromagnetically repel each other and to overcome the biasing force and open when the current flowing through the contacts exceeds a predetermined value. A mechanism is provided responsive to the current flowing through the pair of electrical contacts for decreasing the biasing force as the current flowing in the electrical contacts approaches the predetermined value, to thereby decrease the predetermined value causing the electrical contacts to immediately open. The housing is an insulating housing and is designed to connect with the insulating housing of a molded case circuit breaker so that the apparatus may be affixed thereto.

摘要： An improved method of joining insulated conductors and providing a water-tight seal. The area about the joined conductors is filled with a putty-like insulation filler material and an O-ring placed on the conductor insulation, some distance from the joint. The joint, including the O-ring, is overtaped with resin-rich insulation tape and the tape is surrounded by a shrinkable polyester film. Heat is applied to partially cure the insulation tape, and to cause the polyester film to contract tightly about the joint.
