Abstract:
A method including selectively injecting non-cooled exhaust gas into a primary air intake conduit at a first location; selectively injecting cooled exhaust gas into the primary air intake conduit at a second location; and wherein the second location is downstream from the first location with respect to the direction of gas flow in the primary air intake conduit.
Abstract:
A modular system for use in a vehicle comprising a hanger bracket adapted to be secured to the vehicle. A second hanger bracket member is slidably connected with a first hanger bracket. A platform member extends transverse to the second hanger bracket member. An extension is slidably disposed on the platform. The extension defines a first groove thereon. The extension defines a second groove thereon. A top deck panel is disposed adjacent the first platform extension section and is disposed in the first groove. A bottom deck panel is disposed adjacent the second platform extension section and is disposed in the second groove. The modular system can provide many functions in the vehicle such as, luggage racks, HVAC ducting, wiring raceways, lighting, advertising panels, and window blinds.
Abstract:
A cargo cart system with a cradle assembly includes a pair of support rails with generally sinuous upper and lower surfaces and at least one cross bar spanning the support rails. The sinuous upper and lower surfaces are maintained in mirrored relation with one another to define pairs of laterally spaced upper and lower support surfaces to support containers in a stabilized position. A method of assembling and retaining containers includes providing a plurality of the cradle assemblies; placing a first cradle assembly on the cart; placing a first row of containers upon the first cradle assembly; placing a second cradle assembly over the first row of containers; and, placing a second row of containers upon the second cradle assembly.
Abstract:
A bed-tent provides an enclosure over a mattress. The tent forms a canopy having spaced apart panels and a flexible cover extending between the panels. Each panel includes a hoop of flexible, resilient, strip material and a sheet of flexible fabric in the space within the hoop. Retainers secure the canopy on the mattress. A supporting frame holds the panels erect. The frame has stanchions disposed externally of the canopy and releasably connected to the panels. A frame member externally of the canopy above the cover holds the stanchions upright. The hoops can be twisted or wound into flat coils of reduced diameter so that the entire canopy can be conveniently stored in a small package. The legs and the frame member are made of segments that are normally held together by elastic cords. The segments can be pulled apart and separated for storage in a convenient package.
Abstract:
A power steering assembly and method of retrofitting therefore includes a housing having a cavity defined therein. A drive member extends axially into the cavity and a first piston and a second piston are received in the cavity for axial reciprocation therein. The first and second pistons define at least in part first and second pairs of chambers. The first pair of chambers receive fluid under pressure to move the first and second pistons toward one end of the housing to rotate the driven shaft in a first direction. The second pair of chambers receive fluid under pressure to move the first and second pistons toward the other end of the housing to rotate the driven shaft in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Abstract:
The present invention comprises a method of attaching plastic to a metal substrate and a part made by the method. A hydroformed metal section having top and bottom openings is provided. A plastic component is molded about the metal component and through the bottom opening. The plastic component includes a flange on one side thereof to secure the plastic component with the metal component.
Abstract:
A nailer device having a carriage assembly, a pair of pivotal drive wheels, a nailer assembly and at least one end wheel. The pair of pivotal drive wheels are on the carriage assembly. The at least one end wheel is disposed adjacent an end of the carriage assembly. A drive motor can be associated with at least one of the pair of pivotal drive wheels when the nailer device is operating in an automatic mode. A handle disposed either intermediate of the pivotal drive wheels can be used to move or manually operate the nailer device and move the nailer device to an adjacent row of floorboards to be secured. A pair of adjustable wheels is also provided to adjust the height of the device.
Abstract:
A brake system operable to inhibit movement of a non-powered transportable cart. The cart has a platform with opposite front and rear ends, at least one pivotal caster wheel adjacent and supporting one of the front or rear ends, and a pair of fixed wheels. The brake system has a brake arm with a brake bar extending laterally therefrom. The brake arm is pivotal between a disengaged position and an engaged position. When in the disengaged position, a gap is defined between the brake bar and the fixed wheels to allow the fixed wheels to rotate freely. When in the engaged position, the brake bar engages the fixed wheels to prevent them from rotating. A brake latch is carried by the platform and has a catch sized to receive the brake arm to releasably maintain the brake arm in its engaged position.
