In some examples, the couplers may be connected in cascade configuration, with at least the second coupler including at least third and fourth couplers connected in tandem configuration. In some examples, a first asymmetric coupler may include a plurality of coupler sections connected in cascade configuration, and a second coupler connected to the first coupler in tandem configuration. In some examples, a direct port of a first coupler section may be conductively connected through a second coupler section to an isolated port of the first coupler section. In some examples, a coupler assembly may include first and second transmission lines having respective conductors electromagnetically coupled in a plurality of serially connected coupler sections, which sections have coupled portions with substantially the same cross-sectional configuration and lengths that are progressively longer or shorter in successive coupled portions.

    摘要: Couplers are disclosed that include first and second mutually coupled conductors. The coupled conductors may be regular or irregular in configuration, and for example, may be linear, including rectilinear or with one or more curves, bends or turns, such as forming a ring, coil, spiral or other loop. One or more sections of a coupler may be on different levels and separated by a dielectric medium, such as air or a dielectric substrate. Coupled conductors may be facing each other on the same or spaced-apart dielectric surfaces, such as opposing surfaces of a common substrate, and each conductor may include one or more portions on each side or surface of a substrate. In some examples, a coupler may include plural coupled sections, with conductors in one section being only broadside coupled, and conductors in another section being edge-coupled.

    摘要: A nonlinear impedance transformer comprising a plurality of scaled L-C sections. The first section has its inductance and capacitance values selected to establish a characteristic impedance approximately equal to the output impedance of the local oscillator. The last section has its inductance and capacitance values selected to establish an output impedance which substantially matches the input impedance of whatever device to which the nonlinear impedance transformer is coupled. The impedance of each section is scaled logarithmically between the values of the input and output impedances. An FET driver can be integrated on the same substrate as integrated versions of the nonlinear impedance transformer. In such a case, the input impedance of the first section is set to the output impedance of the FET, i.e., about 10 ohms.

    摘要: A dynamic braking circuit for a universal motor is disclosed. A switching mechanism is used to reverse the orientation of the series field winding with respect to the rotor when power is removed. Because the rotor acts as a generator when power is removed, it will generate current to the field winding. Because the orientation of the field winding has been reversed, the field winding will thus try to make the motor run in the opposite direction, thereby exerting a braking force on the motor. The amount of the braking force is limited by using a portion of a second winding to oppose the reversed action of the first winding.

    摘要: A protective guide and blocking structure are provided for preventing inadvertent actuation by a misaligned or tilted cover on a food processor of the type including tool drive means driven by a motor located in a base with control means for rendering the motor drive inoperative unless the control means is actuated. When the components of the food processor are properly positioned, the control means becomes actuated to permit operation of the motor drive for rotating the tool. The actuating means is a movable rod in a boss on the bowl defining a guideway through which the rod moves. The boss has a keyway-configured, slotted cap covering the upper end of the rod, and the actuator has a surface with a keyway therein which fits into the slotted cap and is capable of passing therethrough for depressing the movable rod. The protective apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a vertical rib which partially extends upwardly along the rear front edge of the keyway-configured slot. A cooperating recessed shoulder is provided on the inside of the complementary keyway-configured actuator such that the recessed shoulder contacts and engages the vertical rib for preventing the actuator from entering the protective cap when the actuator is improperly aligned in the cap, thus preventing the cover from being misaligned or tilted on the bowl. A radial ledge on the bowl diametrically opposite the movable rod and a complementary lug on the cover further insure proper alignment of the cover.

    摘要: Safety interlock method and apparatus employing magnetic effects for food processors having a base enclosing a motor drive, working bowl detachably mountable on the base for receiving various rotatable tools removably installable on drive means in the bowl, with removable cover for the bowl. Such food processors normally include a hopper or feed tube on the cover with manually operated pusher for feeding food items down it to the rotating tool. The safety interlock in one embodiment prevents actuation of the drive to prevent tool rotation unless two conditions are met: (1) the working bowl is in proper position and (2) the cover is in proper position. The safety interlock in another embodiment prevents actuation of the motor drive unless three conditions are met: (1) bowl in proper position, (2) cover in proper position, and (3) food pusher is inserted into the feed tube. If there is a relatively large feed tube, the user is thus prevented by the inserted food pusher from inadvertently inserting a hand or foreign object into it. By virtue of this latter interlock, the feed tube can safely be made of larger cross-sectional area so that larger food items can be inserted whole. Moreover, the entire size of working bowl, cover and feed tube can be proportionately enlarged for providing a larger overall machine. The various interlock systems employ magnetic effects advantageously in ways for increasing discrimination against inadvertent actuation by ordinary magnets.
