摘要： An absorbent article for absorbing liquid discharge of a wearer when worn in the crotch region includes an absorbent core for doing the absorbing of the liquid discharge. A conductive layer is in electrical contact with the absorbent core. The article includes at least one set of first and second electrical contacts secured in intimate physical and electrical contact with the conductive layer such that when an electric potential is applied between the first and second electrical contacts, an electric current travels between them and through the conductive layer in such a way so as to follow a first relatively high impedance path along the conductive layer when the absorbent core is dry and a relatively low impedance path when the absorbent core is wet. This system allows a system verification check, even in the dry state, and the determination of the extent of the wet portion of the absorbent core.

摘要： A modular unit for applying opening devices to packages of pourable food products includes a first conveyor for feeding the opening devices successively along a first path, a second conveyor for feeding the packages successively along a second path, a transfer mechanism for transferring the opening devices along a third path from a pickup station located along the first path, to an application station for applying the opening devices to respective packages and located along the second path, and a processing device for performing specific operations on the opening devices prior to application of the opening devices to the respective packages. The transfer mechanism defines a base module of the unit, and the processing device includes different types of processing devices forming part of different auxiliary modules selectively connectable to the base module to define different units for applying the opening devices to respective packages.

摘要： The safety arrangement for a motor vehicle incorporates primary restraint arrangement having a three-point seat-belt (3) and optionally one or more air-bags (19,22). A secondary restraint system is provided in the form of a two-point seat-belt (13). A sensor senses when the two-point seat-belt (13) is in use and provides a signal to a control unit (17) which adjusts the restraining effect provided by the primary restraint arrangement so that the overall restraining effect is the same regardless of whether the two-point seat-belt is, or is not, used. The use of the two-point seat-belt (13) provides enhanced occupant protection especially in a side-impact or rollover situation.

摘要： An absorbent article with an absorbent body enclosed between inner and outer casing sheets and a stiffening element extending from the rear, through the intermediate, and into the front part of the article. The stiffening element's front and rear parts are broader than its intermediate part and the stiffening element is not wider than 4 cm at its front to intermediate transition region. Side flaps are formed by at least some parts of the remainder of the article which extend laterally beyond the stiffening element, so that the distance between side-edges of the stiffening element and an edge of the side flap varies within the region. The stretch resistance of the side flaps is greater than the stiffening element's longitudinal bending resistance, so inward pressing of the side flaps causes the stiffening element to curve longitudinally, to obtain an upwardly concave shape adapted to the shape of a wearer's body.
