摘要: A method is provided for mounting a roof anchor (10) on a roof support structure (30) having an underside surface (32), the roof fully or partially covered with roof covering material (39), the roof anchor (10) including an attachment means (12) and a shaft (14), the method including the steps of: a) making a first hole (50) in the covering material (39) and the roof support structure (30), which first hole (50) is capable of receiving the shaft (14); b) forming an aperture (38) in the covering material (39) adjacent the first hole (50) and the roof support structure (30); c) inserting an anchor block (20), having a second hole (22) capable of fixedly engaging the shaft (14), through the aperture (38) and locating the anchor block (20) at the underside surface (32) such that the first and second holes (50, 22) are in registry; and d) inserting the shaft (14) through both the first and second holes (50, 22) whereby to fixedly engage the roof anchor (10) to the anchor block (20), such that the roof anchor (10) is mounted on the roof support structure (30).

摘要: A multi-directional roof anchor for fitment to a roofing material affixed to a building, wherein the anchor is shaped so as to progressively distort under sudden load, the anchor having a generally planar structure, having a first fixing region or regions for fitment to a roofing material, with means provided therein by which the anchor can be affixed either directly to the roofing material, or through the roofing material, to the supporting structure below; a second attachment region for attaching devices, apparatus or equipment to the anchor; and a third shock absorbing region intermediate between the first and second regions and integral therewith, the third region comprising one or more shock absorbing portions, shaped so as to provide gradual or progressive absorption of a sudden load applied to the anchor as would occur in the event of a fall of a person attached thereto, the absorption provided either by the third region alone or the third region in combination with one or both of the other two regions, the anchor further having the ability to absorb such load when applied to it from any direction.

摘要: A bracket arrangement (11) for removable attachment to the upper regions of a ladder (12) is disclosed. The bracket has a pair of laterally spaced apart arms (18) for adjustably rotatable attachment to respective sides (16) of the ladder. The arms extend generally away from the ladder towards a roof (14) of a building when the ladder is used against the side (15) of said building to gain access to the roof. The angle between the arms and the plane of the ladder is adjustable to suit varying conditions of use. The bracket has a pair of braces (23), each attached to respective sides of the ladder and adjustably rotatable about the point at which each is attached and extending from the ladder on respective sides thereof for locking each respective arm of the bracket so as to maintain each arm in predetermined angular relationship with respect to the plane of the ladder. The bracket has a cross member (19) extending at least between the free ends or free end regions of each arm for placement against the roof of the building.

摘要: A ladder support bracket (11) receives a rung of a ladder intended to be placed against the gutter (19) of a building and thus restraining it, and hence the ladder, from sideways or downwards movement. The bracket includes a first region (12) for affixing to a rigid portion of the building, a second region (13) which spans the gutter, and a third region (14) in the form of a cradle for receiving the rung of the ladder. The ladder support bracket preferably has the first region for fixing the bracket to a rigid portion of the building in the form of a relatively planar sheet like portion which may be attached by suitable fasteners, such as screws (22, 23) or the like, to the rafters (18) or other timber members of the roof support structure of the building, such as battens (21), this portion then being covered by the roofing material, whether tiles or metal roofing.

摘要: Described is a multi-directional roof anchor. The anchor is shaped so as to progressively distort under sudden load. The anchor has a generally planar structure, in which a first fixing region for fitment, either directly or indirectly, to a roofing material is provided. The anchor also includes a second attachment region for attaching devices, apparatus or equipment to the anchor, and a third shock absorbing region provided between, and integral with, the first and second regions. The third region includes one or more shock absorbing portions, shaped so as to provide gradual or progressive absorption of a sudden load applied to the anchor. The absorption is provided either by the third region alone or the third region in combination with one or both of the other two regions. Advantageously, the anchor has the ability to absorb such load when applied to it from any direction.

摘要: An anchor assembly (3) for securing at least one safety device indirectly to a structure is disclosed. The anchor assembly includes at least two spacers (10,20), including a first spacer and a second spacer; at least one bridging member (50) spanning between the spacers; and engagement means (30,40) for securing the safety device to the anchor assembly. Each spacer includes securing means for securing the spacer directly to the structure; a head for fastening the spacer to the bridging member and/or to the engagement means; and a shaft extending between the securing means and the head. The shaft of at least the first spacer is adapted to deform progressively so as to at least partially absorb the kinetic energy applied by a load of a falling object attached to the safety device.
