Abstract:
The present invention is related to an information delivery system that includes a storage device and a set of physical data objects holding content. The data objects are mapped by metadata held in an archive. The archive utilizes a predetermined language and semantics that may also be used in forming an external query for resolution by the archive. Such queries may be generated by software process such as agents under human or software control.
Abstract:
A scanning optical system is configured to include a light source, an anamorphic optical element, a polygonal mirror, and an imaging optical system. The imaging optical system has a scanning lens including a first lens provided on a polygonal mirror side and a second lens provided on a surface side, and a compensation lens provided on the surface side with respect to the scanning lens, the compensation lens compensating for curvature of field. The scanning lens includes at least one convex surface that has a toric surface having a stronger power in the auxiliary scanning direction than in the main scanning direction. One surface of the compensation lens has an anamorphic aspherical surface, which is a surface whose radius of curvature in the auxiliary scanning direction at a point spaced from the optical axis thereof is determined independently from a cross-sectional shape thereof along the main scanning direction.

A binocular telescope with a photographing function includes a pair of telescopic optical systems, a casing for receiving the telescopic optical systems, and the casing has outer-side end portions. A camera system includes a photographing optical system, and a solid-state image sensor arranged behind and aligned with the photographing optical system, and an electronic control system electronically controls an operation of the camera system. The electronic control system is supplied with electric power from the batteries through an electric power source circuit board. The batteries and the electric power source circuit board are provided at the outer-side end portions of the casing, such that the weight is balanced between the outer-side end portions of the casing.
Abstract:
An electronic endoscope system has a video-scope, a video-processor, and a liquid supply apparatus. The video-scope has a liquid transmitting tube for spouting liquid from a tip of the video-scope, and is detachably and electrically connected to the video-processor. The liquid supply apparatus is electrically connectable to the video-processor, and has a container for storing liquid and a liquid supplier that supplies the liquid in the container to the liquid transmitting tube. A liquid jet performance member for spouting the liquid is provided on the video-scope. A liquid jet performance detector detects operational status of the liquid jet performance member, and a liquid jet performance transmitter feeds a control signal regarding the operational status of the liquid jet performance member to the liquid supply apparatus. The liquid supplier supplies the liquid in the container to the liquid transmitting tube in accordance with the control signal.

An endoscope objective optical system includes a negative first lens group, a positive second lens group, and an imaging device, in this order from the object. Zooming is performed by moving the positive second lens group in the optical axis direction, and the endoscope objective optical system satisfies the following condition: m2T
Abstract:
In a multi-exposure drawing method for drawing a pattern on a drawing surface, using an exposure unit including a plurality of optical modulation elements arranged in both a first array-direction and a second array-direction, the exposure unit is moved in relation to the drawing surface in a drawing direction. The drawing direction is inclined to form an angle with respect to the first array-direction, whereby the exposure unit is gradually shifted in the second array-direction during the movement of the exposure unit. The modulation elements are successively and selectively operated based on pattern bit-data to thereby modulate a light beam made incident on each modulation element, whenever the exposure unit is moved in the drawing direction by a distance of nullAnullanull. nullAnull is a distance corresponding to an integer-multiple of a dimension of a unit exposure zone produced on the drawing surface by each modulation element, and nullanull is a smaller distance than the dimension of the unit exposure.
Abstract:
An endoscope system is provided that includes a processor connectable to various endoscopes to process signals generated by the endoscope being connected. The processor further includes a database, a data selector and a data register. The database is configured to be registered a plurality of pieces of endoscope data, each of which being related to different one of the endoscopes connectable to the connector. Each piece of the endoscope data includes priority information indicating the priority of deleting the piece of endoscope data. The data selector selects one piece of the endoscope data based on the priority information. The data register registers a new endoscope with the database by replacing the selected piece of endoscope data with the piece of endoscope data of the new endoscope.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an objective lens of an optical pick-up that converges light beams of two different wavelengths onto recording layers of optical discs of two different recording densities, respectively. The objective lens includes a refractive lens whose one surface is divided into a common area through which a light beam of a low NA, which is necessary and sufficient for an optical disc having low recording density, passes and a high NA exclusive area through which a light beam of a high NA, which is necessary only for an optical disc having high recording density, passes. A diffractive lens structure is formed in both the areas. The diffractive lens structure in the common area maximizes the diffraction efficiency of the first order and that in the high NA exclusive area maximizes the diffraction efficiency of the second or third order at the wavelength corresponding to the optical disc having high recording density.
Abstract:
A stereo-image capturing device comprises an on-chip color filter attached CCD, a photographing optical system, and an aperture disk. The on-chip color filter comprises red (R), green (G), and blue (B) color filters, so that the CCD senses images in R, G, and B colors. The photographing optical system produces R, G, and B color images of a subject on the imaging surface of the CCD. The aperture disk has three apertures and they have R, G, and B color filters.
