摘要: An apparatus includes a device interface system having a first connector and second connector, each with a respective optical signal path arrangement operatively aligned when the two connectors are in a connected position. The operative alignment allows a base optical signal to be transmitted from the first connector to the second connector. An optical signal modification arrangement is included in the second connector and is operable to provide a predefined modification to the base optical signal to result in an optical ID signal that is transmitted back to the first connector. An identification processing unit associated with the first connector receives an ID input signal corresponding to the optical ID signal and produces an identification output responsive to the ID input signal.

摘要: The insertion unit support system is provided for a tubular insertion system, and generates lumen information including the shape and location of a lumen based on the pre-acquired information about the lumen of a subject as an observation target that includes image information of two- or higher dimensional images, i.e., three-dimensional images or three-dimensional tomograms, so that the lumen information is used as support information for inserting the insertion unit of an endoscope. The lumens of the subjects targeted for the support of the insertion unit support system may vary in shape and location, and are deformed according to the shape of an inserted insertion unit. Thus, the support information is corrected and updated based on the deformation.

摘要: Computerized information acquisition and processing apparatus for use in endoscopic analysis. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a swallowable apparatus having a digital processor apparatus and video apparatus with image capture and digitization capability, and a wireless interface for accomplishing various purposes, including e.g., transferring the digital image data to a second computerized apparatus having various algorithmic analysis functions operative thereon, including for example pixel intensity analysis, shape recognition, and preview functions, so as to enhance efficiency of the review process. In another embodiment, portions of the algorithmic analysis (and other functions) are performed by the digital processor apparatus on the swallowable apparatus, including selective deletion or omission of data prior to transmission.

In some embodiments, a medical borescope system may comprise a medical borescope comprising a tube comprising a first tube end and a second tube end opposite from the first tube end; a light source positioned adjacent to the first tube end and configured to generate light at the first tube end; an image sensor positioned adjacent to the first tube end. The system may further comprise a data communication link coupled with the image sensor and a dongle comprising an image processor configured to receive image data from the image sensor that is removably coupleable with the medical borescope such that the dongle can be coupled with a plurality of distinct medical borescopes. The dongle may be configured to at least one of receive and detect borescope-specific parameter data from the medical borescope, wherein the borescope-specific parameter data comprises data unique to the medical borescope.

摘要: A medical system includes an endoscope apparatus including a plurality of insertion portions and a main unit supporting them; a sheath unit attachable to a biological subject and having a through-hole through which the insertion portions can be passed; a monitor; barcodes from which the insertion portions issue identification information; an identification-signal generating unit that acquires the identification information from the barcodes and outputs this to the main unit every time the insertion portions pass through the through-hole; wherein the main unit includes an image selector that displays, on the monitor, an image acquired by the insertion portion identified by the main unit as having being have passed through the sheath unit on the basis of the identification information from the identification-signal generating unit.

摘要: A medical navigation system is provided for controlling medical equipment during a medical procedure. The medical navigation system includes a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, an RFID sensor for detecting the passive RFID tag, a controller coupled to the RFID sensor, and a robotic arm having an end effector and controlled by the controller. The RFID sensor provides a signal to the controller indicating presence of an activated passive RFID tag. The passive RFID tag has an antenna, an RFID circuit, and a switching device coupled to the RFID circuit for activating the passive RFID tag. The passive RFID tag is used to control a payload attached to the end effector.

The control system is configured to pass a detergent and a disinfectant through the channels of the medical instrument based at least in part on a selected instrument profile selected from the set of instrument profiles. The selected instrument profile is selected based at least in part on the information collected by the detection system.
