摘要: A scaffolding safety device is mountable to a scaffolding structure having a pair of spaced apart vertical structures and a platform horizontally extending therebetween for supporting a worker. The device comprises an elongate body, a pair of connectors and a safety line. The elongate body defines opposite longitudinal ends and each connector is positioned at or near a respective longitudinal end for being connected to a respective one of the spaced apart vertical structures thereby providing the elongate body to be horizontally disposed between the spaced apart vertical structures. The safety line comprises resilient material mounted at each longitudinal end thereof to or near a respective one of the longitudinal ends of the elongated body for horizontally and slackingly extending along a least a portion of the longitudinal length of the elongated body. The safety line provides for connecting a safety harness worn by the worker thereto. During accidental fall of the worker from the platform, the safety line provides for absorbing a force from the worker's weight via the harness.

摘要: System and method for adaptive signal equalizing in which overlapping data signal equalization paths provide cumulative data signal equalization to provide multiple equalized data signals having different available amounts of equalization. Signal slicing circuitry slices the equalized data signals to provide multiple sliced data signals, from which the sliced data signal selected as an output data signal is dependent upon the data rate of the incoming data signal.

摘要: A kit for a temporary barrier includes at least two vertical post members, a contiguous wire and a tensioning device. The at least two vertical post members define respective top and bottom ends thereof and are positioned on an underlying surface in a spaced apart relationship. The wire runs between the two vertical post members at least towards their respective top ends and at least towards their respective bottom ends thereby providing a top wire portion and a bottom wire portion extending between the two vertical post members. The two vertical post members have respective arcuate bodies along their respective length for arcuately receiving the wire. The tensioning device is mounted to one of the two vertical post members near one of the top or bottom ends thereof and provides tension to the wire. A barrier is provided by the previous kit. A method for building a temporary kit includes mounting vertical posts on an underlying surface in a spaced apart relationship and running a wire between them.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention relate to the determination of the colour of a colour sample from an image of the colour sample. In one embodiment a colour sample capture card is provided having printed thereon colour samples of known colour (for example, XYZ tri-stimulus values). An image of the test colour sample is then captured using domestically available equipment, such as a consumer digital camera or camera-equipped mobile telephone, the image also containing the colour sample capture card. In one embodiment the image is then transmitted to a remote colour determination service for colour sample colour determination. Regression analysis is then performed using the RGB colour samples in the image and known XYZ colours thereof to characterise the colour capture response of the image capture device. Having characterised the image capture device the XYZ colour of the unknown colour sample can be determined from the RGB colour thereof in the image. A clustering algorithm is employed to identify if there is more than one colour in the unknown colour sample.
