    摘要: The present invention provides a connection adapter for use with a flexible or rigid conduit that fluidingly interconnects an intake or exhaust port of a ventilation unit and a conduit. The adapter comprises a unit coupler (10) having a central portion (60) with an aperture (70) and an elongated sleeve (80) aligned with the aperture (70) and extending from the central portion (60). The unit coupler (10) can be secured to a port of a ventilation unit such that the elongated sleeve (80) projects through a port into the casing of the ventilation unit. The adapter also comprises a conduit coupler (20) having a central portion (100) with an aperture (110) and an inner elongated sleeve (120) extending from the central portion (100) that is aligned with the aperture (110) of the conduit coupler (20).

    摘要: A heat recovery ventilator defrost system utilizing a bypass section which supplies warm air in both channels of the heat exchanger to accelerate defrost, continue some ventilation of stale warm air, and recirculate a portion of the stale air flow, so as to warm incoming cold fresh air. When the system is in defrost mode, warm exhaust air to be expelled enters an exhaust inlet port and into an exhaust plenum. Because the air being exhausted (by way of the exhaust fan) through the exhaust plenum is under a positive pressure, the stale air will still be sucked out through exhaust passageway into discharge plenum, but also through the passive non-motorized bypass section into inlet plenum. Further, because fresh air continues to be drawn into inlet plenum, due to the positive pressure, the warm stale air which has passed through the bypass section (flap) into inlet plenum is then drawn through the heat exchanger along the inlet passageway into supply plenum, and out through supply port into the enclosure or dwelling. In this way, the heat recovery ventilators defrost system of the present invention supplies warm air in both channels of the heat exchanger.

    摘要: A bypass air filter is provided for attachment to the return air duct of an existing forced air conditioning system. The bypass air filter has a housing that defines a bypass air channel between an air inlet opening and an air outlet opening. The housing attaches directly to the return air duct so that the air inlet and outlet openings connect with complementary openings in the return air duct. This arrangement eliminates the need for bypass air ducting between the return air duct and the bypass air filter. The housing retains an air filter, which bisects the bypass air channel, and a fan for drawing air in through the air inlet opening through the air filter and out the air outlet opening. An upstream baffle extends from the housing into the upstream air flow through the return air duct to direct air into the air inlet opening. A downstream baffle extends from the housing away from the upstream air flow through the return air duct to draw air out of the air outlet opening. This arrangement increases the efficiency of the bypass air filter.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus for controlling a system which includes a fluid conduit network and at least two motors each drivingly engaged with different fluid movement devices, the apparatus comprising means for providing a speed signal representative of the speed of each motor and means for providing a control signal in response to the speed of each motor. The apparatus also comprises a means for controlling the speed of each motor in response to the control signal wherein each motor speed is controlled for balancing the rate of fluid movement at an input point and an exit point of the system. A system is also provided under the present invention for balancing the rate of fluid movement, wherein the system comprises at least two motors, each in driving relationship with a respective fluid movement device, means for providing speed signals representative of the speed of each motor, a microprocessor, responsive to the speed signal, for generating control signals representative of a set of new speed signals and variable speed motor controls for controlling the motor speeds in response to the control signals. A method for controlling a system is also provided under the present invention which includes a fluid conduit network and at least two motors each drivingly engaged with different fluid movement devices, the method comprising the steps of a) sensing the speed signal representative of the speed of each motor in the system, b) generating, by the use of a microprocessor, control signals representing new desired speeds for each motor and c) transmitting a command to each motor in response to the control signals, the command adjusting the motor speeds thereby balancing the rate of fluid movement at an input point and an exit point of the system.
